Obviously this is selling softcore sauciness, but it’s actually a dour drama about the breakdown of a marriage made by braindead weirdos. Britt Ekland’s performance is… Pretty rough. An occasional boob and awkward sexy talk fill some kind of quota. Amazing to think of something like this being funded nowadays, it’s almost strange enough to be worth watching as a VHS boom curio. But no. Definitely not.
With opening credits reminiscent of an '80s sitcom translated into an FMV game, this film initially feels like a montage of brief sexual vignettes, seeming almost as if they were cut together from several sources. The loose framing story is of a college professor working on a PHD thesis and accompanying book regarding 'erotic images,' which leads to controversy, the endangerment of her job, legal threats, marriage tension, and the allure of an affair. As the film finds its footing, the energy of the sexual elements fades, settling into a rather humdrum drama.
