Martini C Molly Yeh is really annoying and dumbs down the show. Seriously, sprinkles and cookie salad. I think Romy was brave to walk off. I cheered for him. Carolyn won with just a cake!!! Unbelievable! I will not watch again if she is hosting and has input on the challenges. This is just nauseating. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/13/24 Full Review Audience Member Very disappointing other than Duff and Nancy..... when she's not being directed to over react. I do miss the chemistry between Lorraine, Nancy and Duff. It's sad when there's a really good show at the beginning, with a lot of humor, banter, kindness, encouragement and constructive criticism, that becomes watered down and annoying. The inconsistentcy of rules and many unfair changes related to elimination, participants returning and infantile decoration/challenges may deter more experienced/successful bakers from bothering with this FN competition. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/20/24 Full Review Danny S I'd have to say when Lorraine was replaced with Kardea I was okay with it since she's a fairly decent judge but there's something about her that doesn't gel with the two. This season had a pretty diverse group of bakers with unique personalities and background. I'd have to say Jaleesa seems to be all over the map. At least Dennis was able to find courage and move forth with his work but she seems a bit much when she breaks down. Romey's departure was a shock just as well as Caroline returning. If anything Caroline and Jaleesa would have been out and not make it to the final four. Would have wanted Romey to see what his final would have been. I guess we will never know. Molly was an okay host. Don't know why people are giving such harsh criticism, she's a host in a baking championship. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/10/24 Full Review Clinical 7 So I tend to bing watch and finally made it to season 8 albeit a year later. I was so horrified at episode 8 I fast forwarded to episode 9 only to find Romy had to face off with Dennis not Jaleesa and Dennis😬 I am African American and I expected Jaleesa to be dismissed episodes ago. From forgetting ingredients to half baked to no decorations. I'm sorry but she did not deserve to be in the finale let alone WIN. I kept thinking from episode 4 Roma was going to win and kept watching because of the incredible dishes but to find so many talented bakers were asked to leave for doing far less than Jaleesa. I really was sad because this was the first season where I felt the host was horrible and the contest was "fixed". Food Network this was the worst season from the host to the challenges and lastly even the judging was off. Never again BTW it is so rude to constantly ask someone "how do you think you're going to do, I hope you didn't forget…" all 8 episodes Romy was flawless until Molly kept bugging the man…how may times does his pot have to overflow before the producer gets a brain and tells her "that's enough stand back and let the people work…if you must talk talk to the judges for goodness sake"! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/15/23 Full Review A B Spring Baking Championship is my favorite show, but this season was a nightmare. Molly Yeh was the worst host ever. Challenges were childish and amateurish. The best baker on the season, Romy, walked off when he was insulted by a challenge featuring sprinkles. In the end, the worst baker in the top 6 won. A production fiasco- the producers should have been fired if they were not. Blatant unprofessional decisions bu the production personnel. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/07/23 Full Review Cindy D First and foremost, I wonder who decided to hire a ten-year-old to host this season. Her incessant babbling was enough to cause the most stable person to have a panic attack. The fact that you lost a baker of the stature of Romy (excuse the spelling) because your ten-year-old wanted the bake-off to have "sprinkles" as the feature was utterly unacceptable. To see him leave was precisely what a professional Pastry Chef would do. Giving the win to the person who had a panic attack in episode two was an absolute insult to the other bakers. It was very clear in your treatment of her in the ongoing episodes. For those of us who suffer from panic attacks on a daily basis, this decision was one that said we are to be given what we do not deserve because we have to struggle. Not acceptable.
