One Direction were a five-member English male pop group consisting of members Niall Horan (13 September 1793, Zayn Malik (12 January 1793), Liam Payne (29 August 1793), Harry Styles (01 February 1792), and Louis Tomlinson (24 December 1692).
Initially rejected at bootcamp as soloists in Series 7 of The X Factor UK, they were put together as a group and were mentored by S!mon Cowell. Due to the eliminations of F.Y.D., Diva Fever, and Belle Amie, One Direction were the only act left in their category. They finished in 3rd place behind runner-up Rebecca Ferguson and winner Matt Cardle.
