The subject of HBO's upcoming documentary, The Larry David Story, is a co-creator of one of the greatest sitcoms of all time, Seinfeld, and is also the face of the loooong-running hit comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm.

While the comedian plays a fictionalized version of himself on Curb, life seemed to imitate art in 2007 when he split from both his TV wife (Cheryl Hines) and real-life wife (Laurie David). Despite once telling Rolling Stone that getting married again "would be a silly thing to do," David ended up finding love with Ashley Underwood. So, who is Larry David's wife? Who is Larry David’s wife Ashley Underwood?

According to The New York Times, Underwood worked as a producer of Sacha Baron Cohen’s Showtime satirical series Who Is America? as well as the actor's 2020 movie Borat Subsequent Moviefilm. She is also friends with Cohen's wife Isla Fisher, who guest-starred on Season 10 of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

How did Larry David meet his wife Ashley Underwood?

David and Underwood met at Cohen's birthday party in 2017. "We were seated next to each other, I think with that in mind," David recalled in an interview with The New York Times. "Much to her surprise, I left before dessert. I was doing so well, banter-wise, I didn’t want to risk staying too long and blowing the good impression.”

When did Larry David and his wife Ashley Underwood get married?

After moving in together in 2019, per GQ, David married Underwood amid the pandemic in October 2020. The wedding reportedly took place in Southern California. Sharing a photo from their nuptials, Underwood jokingly wrote, "Might get divorced for posting this. #justmarried."

Who was Larry David married to before Ashley Underwood?

Underwood is David's second wife. The comedian first married environmental activist and producer Laurie David in 1993. She is perhaps best known for being a producer of the Academy Award-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth. In 2005, Larry praised Laurie's activism by telling PEOPLE, “There is nothing selfish about her motives in any way. This is just in her blood to do something about global warming, and I’ll be damned if she’s not going to.”

When did Larry David get divorced?

The Davids separated in June 2007 after 14 years of marriage, in what was reportedly an amicable split A source told PEOPLE about their breakup, "They are both really sad but they are great friends and they are still spending a lot of time together at their L.A. home with their kids.”

The following month, Laurie filed for divorce. The Hollywood Reporter reported at the time that Laurie cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for ending their marriage.

When asked by Jay Leno whose fault was the divorce, David answered, "I don't like the tenor of that question." The then-Tonight Show host pressed on asking, "Who screwed up? Obviously something happened," to which the Curb creator replied, "Well, she thought that it would be nice to have sex with someone she liked. She wanted to try that. And I said it's not a good idea. Because you never wanna have sex with people you like. That doesn't work. No. You can't have good sex with people you like. Doing those things. And then you're supposed to talk to them?"

Does Larry David have children?

The actor is a father to daughters Romy David and Cazzie David, whom he shares with his ex-wife Laurie. Cazzie, born in 1994, has followed in her famous dad's TV footsteps; she's an actress who plays Jayme in Netflix's The Umbrella Academy. (You may also know her as Pete Davidson's ex-girlfriend; the two broke up right before he got together with Ariana Grande.) Romy, born in 1996, has also appeared on the small screen; in fact, all three once made an appearance together on Disney Channel's Hannah Montana. Recalling the appearance in an interview with The Guardian, the dad of two said, "Do you think that was pleasant? No. OK?"

During a 2013 interview with New York Magazine, David was asked if he likes being a dad. He answered yes, adding, “It’s a lot more fun now that they are older, and they’re these wonderful people you love to be around.”
