I paid a premium not to have horrible layovers. They change my flight 4x within a span of a few months before the trip. Now my layover is 6hours to hang out at the airport. Unacceptable. Taking my business elsewhere. Agent kept me on the phone for 2 hours and did NOTHING to help and neither did management.

I bought a flight ticket and hotel reservation on Expedia.ca, where the displayed price for my flight was $740 with Air Transat. However, I was charged an additional $542 without any justification. Furthermore, the hotel I booked was supposed to offer the best price, equivalent to a free night’s stay. Once paid, I realized this was false. I found out that I would have paid less if I had booked directly with the airline and the hotel.

After contacting Expedia’s customer service, they told me that they are not in control of the prices and cannot refund me. They offered a $25 coupon, which is completely ridiculous and I refused. Expedia’s customer service was utterly useless and refused to acknowledge the error or refund me. I strongly advise against using this site for any reservations. Very disappointed!

I recently had a profoundly disappointing experience with Expedia's customer service, which was characterized by a lack of support and accountability. This situation involved a disrupted flight itinerary that left my parents stranded in an unfamiliar city, exacerbating an already stressful situation. The ordeal started with a routine inquiry to Expedia after my parents' flight was unexpectedly diverted, causing them to miss their connecting flight. Although I hoped for a swift and effective resolution, the service provided by Expedia was neither. The initial conversation with the representative, Bernan **, involved a lot of deflection of responsibility to American Airlines. Despite multiple assurances that they would help, the conversation was largely unproductive, with Expedia refusing to take any responsibility for the booking issue.

As the interaction progressed, another representative, Rahul, joined the conversation. Rahul informed me that the tickets purchased were basic economy, which typically does not allow for exchanges or refunds. This was frustrating to hear at such a late stage. His suggestion was to speak over the phone, which I declined due to my growing frustration and concern for my parents. Rahul’s demeanor was patronizing at times, suggesting that issues could be resolved if only more money was paid for refundable fares. This felt like a dismissive remark about my financial situation, which added insult to injury.

Throughout the conversation, it became evident that Expedia was unprepared to offer any real solutions, continually insisting that I deal directly with American Airlines—even though the booking was made through their platform. The representatives’ repeated assertions that the airline, not Expedia, was responsible for dealing with the situation, underscored a significant lack of accountability.

Moreover, after enduring this lengthy and unhelpful interaction, they contacted my mother directly and attempted to mitigate the situation by offering a mere $100, which felt like an attempt to placate rather than solve the root issues. This experience has not only diminished my trust in Expedia’s ability to support its customers during travel disruptions but has also highlighted a stark lack of empathy and effectiveness in their customer service approach. For those considering using Expedia for travel arrangements, be warned that if issues arise, you might find yourself abandoned by Expedia, forced to fend for yourself in dealing with airlines directly, with little to no support from the booking platform.

Tried to change flight booking and many times got this Expedia message "Sorry, we're having problems on our end." This is very very aggravating when you are stressed out trying to deal with changing travel plans, and there is no phone to a human mentioned anywhere! Airline won't help because trip was booked by a third party (Expedia), so what are you going to do?? Enterprise rental car website was easy to use to extend time.

One star is too many. These guys are criminals! Booked a hotel in Wildwood. Tried to change accommodations. Had to cancel original booking. They would not refund deposit of 675 then tried to make an additional 2000 for the same accommodations. Now we have no vacation!! So mad.

I would give 0 stars if possible. The incompetence of customer service is mind blowing. Zero added value and complete waste of time. Very unhelpful, giving incorrect information and with agents who are hard to understand. I must use them for booking business trips (company rules) and average I wait is 40 min/call and most often I need to call back .Avoid them any time you can.

Avoid Expedia. They are firm on policies no exceptions. They did not price match stating I missed the cut off time. Had I booked with the hotel direct they would have even after I checked in. Expedia has lost a loyal client.

I booked a car with Expedia and Europcar in Peurta plata Dominican. And I bought the Expedia insurance. When I arrived they were charging me $300 extra for insurance and that I would be refunded when we brought the car back without any issues. Well I never received the $300 so I put a dispute on my visa. I lost the dispute and now have to submit by mail another dispute. I called Expedia and they said not their issue and called Europcar and they said not their issue. I have been blatantly screwed by both. Stay away from Europcar and Expedia!

I will never use Expedia again! Flat out lied and stole money. I never fly, but had to on this occasion. I spent over 1,000 dollars and they said I could get a flight credit but never did. So sad that our world has come to people screwing other people! And it is ok to do that.

Not knowing Expedia booked our hotel, overcharged us by $275.00, plus a $15.00 service fee. Booking the hotel with this Jordan guy, he gave me the total of 1,368.00 and the hotel deposit of $250, that was $275.00, and I would get that back when checking out. We arrived at the hotel and charged another $250.00 deposit, which was explained at the front desk of the hotel, contacted the discrepancy number, and informed by this Edgu agent, the $446.18 was the taxes, the agent was very rude and kept on saying they don't have anything to do with the hotel fees, I tried explaining what I was informed, doesn't make any sense taxes would be that high, he didn't want to hear anything, kept on dismissing the conversation, until I gave up and ended the call. My fault for not checking that I was booking directly with the hotel. Expedia you scammed me and I hope it was worth it.
