referencing Tim's Bio: From The Motion Picture: Life From Da Bassment (2×LP, Album, Promo, Clean) PR 8774
Instrumental-wise, this is some of the greatest material in music that I have ever heard. If "Tim's Bio" would have came with an instrumental version, it would permanently be in my collection. Sadly, in a record that boasts bars from Nas & Jay-Z, I just don't know how it is that the standout raps on this hip-hop record come from Ludacris and Twista. "Fat Rabbit" is a banger, same as "Lobster & Scrimp", but it's like Timbo just did remix versions of "What's Your Fantasy" and "Money Ain't A Thing" (especially with the outro on the latter). This is the first hip-hop record where I can say that the R&B side of this was better than the bars. That whole D side is fire, as soon as Ginuwine gets control of the mic on "Keep It Real". If the whole LP would have been in this vein, I can only wonder but then admittedly the big rap features attracted me enough to listen for that long and without them, I wouldn't have picked it up. Tim knew what he was doing. But from listening to his solo LP's in reverse, I have to say this is one of his weaker efforts , since I am still happily spoiled from "Shock Value".
