Christie Brinkley and her daughter Sailor Brinkley Cook know a thing or two about show business — and decided to lend a helping hand to Grammy-winning artist Billy Joel

On May 1, the supermodel, 70, shared a video to Instagram of her 25-year-old daughter backstage at the "Piano Man" singer's 101st show at Madison Square Garden in New York on April 26.

In the clip, Sailor jams out and sings “You May Be Right” while Joel, 74, watches and smiles.

In the caption, Christie wrote that her kid was simply giving her “Uncle Billy a few pointers before his show,” joking that she was “trying to be helpful.”

“Gotta shoot your shot,” Sailor commented under her mom’s post.

The footage then cuts to the mother-daughter duo dancing around in the audience while Joel performs on stage. “P.S. those two lunatics in the audience were Sailor and me!” Christie added in the caption.

During the show on April 26, fans spotted Christie in the crowd as she appeared on the jumbotron dancing to Joel’s hit “Uptown Girl,” which she starred in the music video for in 1983. (The two wed in 1985 and welcomed their daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, in 1985 before divorcing in 1994.)

In his biography, Billy Joel: The Definitive Biography, the musician confirmed he originally wrote the tune about all models in Manhattan, including Elle Macpherson, whom Joel was dating when he started writing the song. However, he changed the title of the hit from plural to singular when he began dating Christie.

Christie shares Sailor with her ex Peter Cook (her fourth husband) and is also mom to Jack Paris Brinkley Cook, whom she welcomed with her third husband, Richard Taubman (Jack was then adopted by Peter).
