Pat 'Pops' Newland has been serving authentic British fish and chips in London since 1945, and from this he has recreated a restaurant serving one of Britain's best-loved dishes in a friendly setting, surrounded by authentic 1940s/50s memorabilia lovingly curated by Pops himself. Our menu includes sustainably-caught mouth-watering fresh fish cooked in crunchy batter, served with golden chips and classic mushy peas, prepared on the premises by our onsite fishmonger. You can also try the seafood platter, pies, chicken, or traditional east end classics like jellied eels, followed by traditional, indulgent English desserts such as sticky toffee pudding and apple pie. Drinks vary from fruit juices and traditional ginger ale, to carefully-picked wines and locally-sourced beers.

Fish and chips was good. Atmosphere was noisy and a bit cramped. Restaurant is in a different kind of neighborhood.

Overpriced. Fish was bland and tasteless. Only came with a small bottle of tartar sauce - inadequate. "Seasonal" salad was overpriced for lettuce, cucumbers, and cherry tomatoes. The restaurant also took the liberty to change my reservation time on their end - without consulting me. Avoid.

Lieu bruyant Service à revoir avons été servis après 1h. Nos voisins de table ont été servi bien avant nous. Notre commande a été incomplète j ai dû attendre 15min de plus pour avoir mon plat. Le fish and chips large était plus petit que le normal et surtout sans goût gâché par le goût de friture. J en ai mangé des biens meilleurs dans des pub non recommandés. C’est dommage pour une adresse conseillée.

Great little place. No non sense place. If you want fish n chips this is the place. Great fish, beer and service. In and out.

Nice service, I feel stressed because they were more looking for the tips than to being helpful or giving space ( or bit more smiley when doing that…)

Food was good, service was terrible. If you want to appreciate your experience with time and empathy, not the right place. As soon as you finish your order they want you to leave quickly, but fish and chips is really good anyway.
