Years at GDS: 3

What do you love about GDS?

I love the ability to belong to a workplace that feels more like a community and family, rather than just “work.” 

Why do you do your job? 

I’m hopeful that the kids will take the skills we identify and practice together, and become even greater later on in life after our years working together. 

A favorite part of your job? 

The smiles, familiarity, and impact/influence that manifests through the kids. Student-facing roles for some may be tough, but for me it really is the coffee to each day. 

Your work style in a few words? 

Black Girl Magic 

A top hope/wish for your students and/or colleagues? 

I hope that all students and colleagues remember how great they are, even on days where it feels like the world forgot to remind them. 

Personal passions/hobbies/pastimes? 

Travel, shopping, spending time with friends/ family, Cane Corso Nori, trying new foods, writing and content curation

Favorite movies: Hocus Pocus and Mrs. Doubtfire 
Favorite country I’ve traveled to: Bali, Indonesia

Tell us about your pet.
Nori is an 18-month-old Cane Corso; she's my left and right hand on most days. A true Gemini personality, but definitely the light of the house. 

One thing on your life "bucket list" you've already accomplished?

Building my first home.

Skydiving out of an actual plane.
