Overview[]

Rapture is a special ability obtainable by wheel spin. When used when the ball isn't near, the user does a pose for a few seconds, but nothing happens. When used when the ball is near, however, the user will slash their sword upward, while cutting the ground and leaving a rock trail in front of them. The ball gets curved upwards and gets almost triple the speed it had prior to being hit by Rapture. This ability cannot be upgraded.

Something

Rapture under use.

Description[]

"Unleash a ferocious upward slash which gives significantly more curve and power to the ball."

Upgrade Costs[]

This ability cannot be upgraded.

Strategies[]

  • When the ball is still slow, use Rapture to catch them off guard as the ball gains a ton of momentum incredibly fast.
    • Using it when the ball is fast is also effective, as the ball gains speed that goes to incredible lengths. It could kill you if you're not careful.
      • Make sure to be ready if this happens.
  • Just like Raging Deflect, Forcefield and other Block-Faction abilities, you can use this ability if you miss your regular block.
  • Use this in clashing and it will be almost unblock-able at closest range.

Playstyle[]

The god of 🟥 Offensive Playstyles, as being able to NOT only curve the ball upwards, which already trips people up a lot, you almost triple the speed of the ball. Rapture is by far the most aggressive ability in the game, being able to be good in any ball speed: slow, medium, and don't even get started on fast. Rolling Rapture in the Daily Wheel Spin is a blessing, not because it's a 2% chance of you actually getting, but because you just got one of the most powerful abilities in Blade Ball entirely.

Pros and cons[]

Pros[]

  • Curves ball, almost always guaranteeing a kill if enemy is close enough.
  • Unleashes a lot of power onto the ball.
  • You are able to obtain this ability for free if you get a free spin.
  • Opponents can be unprepared to block this ability and is good to use in many situations.

Cons[]

  • Can only be obtained via Wheel with a 2% chance.
  • It has a very long cooldown.
  • Maxed Raging Deflect has a significantly lower cooldown and almost the same speed increment as Rapture.
  • It can be hard to block if sent back to you leaving you vulnerable
  • Using the ability when the ball isn't moving very fast will not increase the ball speed significantly enough to be useful, and therefore, will be nearly useless.

Trivia[]

  • The community of blade ball considers Rapture as one for the most aggressive abilities in the game.
    • It also has the longest cooldown in the game.
  • Raging Deflect is the counterpart of Rapture, with lower cooldown in trade of less power.
