Claremont High School is good for some. They offer really good academics that are tailored to people who are looking to attend a four year institution after high school. This school does have its faults, however it’s better than most in the area.
Claremont High School is a nice school with a diverse range of students and staff. The teachers are absolutely lovely, and care for their students. The enviornment is nice; faculty try their best to make students feel safe. The school has therapists that students can go to for any needed reason and I find that extremely helpful, and utilized that when I attended. The curriculum is challenging, but prepares what for the next years of that subject. College readiness is an area where CHS struggled in. The counselors don't know how to answer your questions exactly how you need them answered. In a way, they avoid the question entirely. They forget to tell you in advance that you should be in activited because colleges like that. They didn't tell us that until the start of senior year when it was already far too late. Other than that, Claremont High School is quite the good school.
In my four years at this high school, I’ve experienced a lot. The food has never been good, in the past four years at least. The academics are far above average. The IB program is very well done. About 76% of my teachers were what I would consider good teachers.
I had a spectacular time at Claremont High School. I’m an alum of the class of 2023. I graduated with my step brother and went to school with my sister. Going into college, I felt really prepared and was able to understand a lot of the things I was learning because a lot of was already introduced in high school. I was on my school’s cross country team the Fall of 2022-2023 school year and I felt really included by having after school 1 on 1 help. The teachers take their time and effort to make the students understand concepts by athletic trainer who also was my sports medicine teacher for 2 years was an amazing teacher and athletic trainer and always helped me with anything I need whether it was school-related, about life, or sports-related like he was always there to listen and support me. What I love about this school is people actually care for you and what you to succeed and that meant a lot! 10/10 school. I felt really connected with my students and a lot of my teachers.
At Claremont High School I have had many experiences that gave me a well rounded education. There are multiple clubs for students and I am in multiple that embrace and educate student’s on different cultures. As for the academic side, teachers are very open-minded, encouraging, supportive, and are passionate in their teachings for students. I have teachers who offer homework help out of class time for students who are struggling. On the school website is where students can find resources for homework help. Many students have voiced that school lunch can always be improved. While I don’t eat school lunch, only food from home, it is important for many students here. Overall I have had many positive experiences at Claremont High School.
The best part about my high school is that most of the teachers a nice and willing to teach. The worst part is that there is not enough protection I feel like. I would like to see our security system change.
Claremont High has been a good experience for me. I believe our academics are profound, especially with our opportunity to be apart of the IB Program. I don’t feel as if our community is tightly knit, which could be because of COVID-19 disrupting my class’ first year of highschool.
I have gone to Claremont highschool since my freshman year and have always enjoyed the school. I grew up going to private school but i like the public school environment. I have always received a good education and had support from teachers and staff throughout my high school experience.
Claremont High School is a great high school, however, it does have some flaws to it. First, my greatest issue with the school is the overall lack of quality in math teachers. I don't think over the 4 years that I have been here I have had a good math teacher—other than that the other concerns are quite miniscule.
The best part of attending Claremont High is all the friendly resources available to every student. Counselors, teachers, and advisors help advance your education and prepare you for all your plans after high school. I've been in AVID since sixth grade, and Claremont High's program has felt like a second family I have at school, where I've built my closest relationships with friends and my teacher. I've gotten help with work from other classes and started the college application more than a year before it opened.
Claremont High school has varying factors going into the ratings. Claremont Unified School District is about 7/10. The high school can very good but sometimes the subjects, teachers, staff, or students aren’t as good.
Overall, it is a good school with a variety of classes offered. The administration and teachers are willing to adapt curriculum and classes to fit students interests, for example an AP Physics C class was added this year because of overwhelming student requests.
We sent 3 children to Claremont high school, our youngest in the special education program. This is an extremely poor SPED program w/ terrible leadership. We noticed immediately that the special education aides come & go at an alarming rate. When we asked an aide who also has a child in the SPED program, she informed us that the school only pays aides around $18 per hour & they are required to lift & change diapers for students who are often big, older teen boys. My husband investigated further & found that employment agencies pay far more than the district will pay aides, thus less commitment to the job and school. Our daughter was twice found alone on campus without her aide because the aide said she wasn’t trained at all & had no idea our daughter cannot walk around alone. $18 an hour is poverty wage in Cali so we quickly understood the drastic turnover rate. SPED students are NOT being properly cared for. If the district can pay agencies $26+/HR, why not district employees? CAUTION
I loved some of the teachers they were always there for you. I had the opportunity to work here and I love getting to know the students and helping them grow.
It was a great experience. The students themselves are all different and diverse. The town is small and you know everybody. There are a lot of athletic programs that are great for learning how to play a sport or on a competitive level. The school is easy to navigate and the teachers are there to help you achieve your goals.
It’s been a pretty good experience so far. Campus is nice and teachers are nice and really cool. Found hopefully lifetime friends.
Claremont High School is situated in a lovely, safe area, fostering a sense of security and tranquility for students. The school boasts a great community feel, with an inclusive and connected student body. Students often find themselves surrounded by peers who embrace diversity and forge strong bonds. Additionally, the teachers genuinely care about their students, showing a vested interest in their well-being and work ethic. The campus has an open layout, park, and the village nearby.
However, the presence of cliques creates social divisions among the student body and makes it challenging for students to navigate their high school experience. The school community can be overly sensitive, making it necessary to approach certain topics with caution. As a result, some students may feel constrained. Lastly, Claremont High School may lack the traditional elements of a "typical" high school experience, such as high spirited football games and a strong sense of student pride.

It was an interesting experience overall. As I experienced both highs and lows. A low level s having people spread rumors. Though one of the highs is having classes with my friends and meeting amazing teachers. As the teachers that I had helped me through all the highs and lows I went through. They helped make my last two years something that I’ll never forget. It was amazing to be class of 2023 with CHS.
The staff and students are great people. The staff really prepared me academically for college. Counselors helped me throughout me time there. They helped me stay on the right path while planning my future.
I personally feel that Claremont high school was good to me. I accomplished every I needed to and could have, and it allowed me to get opportunities for my post graduation life. For me it held many learning experiences to help me through life, and in all my four years teachers and staff were great, with the exception of one individual teacher, but the school was great with navigating through that and holding that teacher accountable.
