Skateboards and lemonade stands 4th of July parade bands Creature feature matinees High dive - I double dare you Hormones enough to scare you Day dreaming summer time away All the gold of yesterday Is a debt I can’t repair I owe it all to you Chapel Ave. Hippies, hobos, ghosts and goblins Dracula, Batman and Robin All dressed up for Beggars’ Night Sissy bars, banana seats Popping wheelies down our street Time flies sometime at the speed of light All the gold of yesterday Is a debt I can’t repair I owe it all to you Chapel Ave. (They cut down the lilac bush Planted a pine tree It’ll never grow What became of that old green chair I had a fort behind years ago Years ago - where did they go?) Goodbye familiar faces Treehouses, hiding places The stars at night, the hills we climbed Childhood artifacts Green fields and cul de sacs Theses are the things I leave behind All the gold of yesterday Is a debt I can’t repair I owe it all to you I do Chapel Ave.

Goodbye Ohio 03:51
We could say it’s just the time Just the time of year When the nights are longer But we both know better, don’t we Dear There’s something wrong here Don’t let the fire die down Don’t let the light fade in your eyes To think we’ve lost the spark Is enough to break my heart Goodbye Ohio Goodbye all I know There’s chill that’s settled in Settled in to stay The sun is colder And the lonely nights fall curtain-like Black birds on our shoulders Don’t let the fire die down Don’t let the light fade in your eyes To think we’ve lost the spark Is enough to break my heart Goodbye Ohio Goodbye all I know Another place Another time Go - before I change my mind Don’t let the fire die down Don’t let the light fade in your eyes To think we’ve lost the spark Is enough to break my heart Goodbye Ohio Goodbye all I know

A Way Around 03:09
You’ve been staying up way too late Talking in circles til the ashtray’s full Bad feeling that you just can’t shake Yeah, I know You been looking for a way around Water keeps rising til you think you’re gonna drown Can’t seem to get to higher ground It’s one step forward and it’s two steps back I know how you’re feeling when you’re feeling like that You’ve been looking for a way around Drop the needle on your favorite sad song You’re not the only one Whoever got it all wrong Just another lonely one You been looking for a way around Water keeps rising til you think you’re gonna drown Can’t seem to get to higher ground It’s one step forward and it’s two steps back I know how you’re feeling when you’re feeling like that You’ve been looking for a way around You been looking for a way around Water keeps rising til you think you’re gonna drown Can’t seem to get to higher ground It’s one step forward and it’s two steps back I know how you’re feeling when you’re feeling like that You’ve been looking for a way around

Joy Rider 03:10
He can beat the odds like Everbody owes him money He’s an angel on a motorbike In the land of milk and honey Hey - Hey Joy Rider’s back in town Back in town He’s a do-or-dier flying low to the ground Low to the ground Joy Rider’s back in town He’s got a midnight wheelie It’s the talk of the neighborhood He’s screaming up and down the side streets ‘Cause it makes him feel so good Hey - Hey Joy Rider’s back in town Back in town He’s a do-or-dier flying low to the ground Low to the ground Joy Rider’s back in town And when I see him ride It feels just like I could grow wings and fly away He don’t need no leather jacket No bubble gum machine The kid loves to make a racket He knows how to make an engine sing Hey - Hey Joy Rider’s back in town Back in town He’s a do-or-dier flying low to the ground Low to the ground Joy Rider’s back in town

So here we go, another day on the water The sun is shining but, we never dive in Don’t want to go to deep or cause any trouble Don’t want to have to start all over again Floating on the surface Never making waves At the bottom of the sea There’s too much mystery And so you and me We keep floating on the surface We keep floating on the surface We don’t worry ‘cause the water’s so peaceful We hide behind the colors nailed to the mast Underneath a sky as blue as the ocean Drift on the current and we never look back Floating on the surface Never making waves At the bottom of the sea There’s too much mystery And so you and me We keep floating on the surface We keep floating on the surface Over our heads, over our heads We don’t want to get in over heads Over our heads, over our heads We don’t want to get in over our, over our heads Floating on the surface Never making waves At the bottom of the sea There’s too much mystery And so you and me We keep floating on the surface We keep floating on the surface We keep floating on the surface ah…ah…ah

Here’s where we started A page from the past Smile for the camera Fill up your glass There was a time…. Remember those days? There’s dust in the corner Cracks in the wall Ghosts in the kitchen Just down the hall I said I was sorry What else can I say It’s hard to be kind when you’re caught in the middle The best we can do is try and be civil We twist and we turn but, we can’t solve the riddle We’ve come to the edge of the map Only to find that the world is flat. We stand at the point Where there’s no turning back Once we were good now Now we settle for scraps So here we are too little too late Let’s take this affair To it’s logical place We can’t bare to fix it So we’ll throw it away. It’s hard to be kind when you’re caught in the middle The best we can do is try and be civil We twist and we turn but, we can’t solve the riddle We’ve come to the edge of the map Only to find that the world is flat. Instrumental - horns It’s hard to be kind when you’re caught in the middle The best we can do is try and be civil We twist and we turn but, we can’t solve the riddle We’ve come to the edge of the map Only to find that the world is flat.

When the lights came on And we’d surveyed the damage done We took a look around but, never found The smoking gun You said kiss me one more time for old time’s sake Now there’s a promise just waiting to break Oh, Lord knows you take the cake, you do Yes you do Yes you do Peter Pan’s got nothing on you As far as I can tell But, you might find as the years go by That it’s a harder sell You said kiss me one more time for old time’s sake Now there’s a promise just waiting to break Oh, Lord knows you take the cake, you do Yes you do Yes you do I’ve got a magpie heart I’m a sucker for a shiny object Shining just out of reach Just a little out of reach Hum The sun comes up and the sun goes down And there’s another day Another day behind us Still so much left on our plates You said kiss me one more time for old time’s sake Now there’s a promise just waiting to break Oh, Lord knows you take the cake, you do Yes you do Yes you do Hum

The frost is on the ground And the world’s all dressed in white I don’t speak or make a sound I watch and listen to the night I walk along the path Barefoot over stone There’s no future there’s no past It’s just me here all alone. And here between the earth and sky I wait and wonder where you are tonight And if I look up just in time to see a star fall down Then you just might Come back to me Come back to me I stumble and I fall But I get back up again Sometimes you answer when I call It’s nothing but, the wind And here between the earth and sky I wait and wonder where you are tonight And if I look up just in time to see a star fall down Then you just might Come back to me Come back to me And here between the earth and sky I wait and wonder where you are tonight And if I look up just in time to see a star fall down Then you just might Come back to me Come back to me

If time is the healer that heals all wounds If someday is coming it can’t come too soon They say one day I’ll “look back and laugh” If they wanna make it better they gotta do better than that It hurts like it’s always gonna feel this way It hurts like it’s always gonna feel this way It don’t help knowing that it won’t one day It hurts like it’s always gonna feel this way The sun can’t shine when the rain comes down Knowing it will come back doesn’t bring it back around I would, if I could push a button, throw a switch And in a heartbeat I’d be on the other side of this It hurts like it’s always gonna feel this way It hurts like it’s always gonna feel this way It don’t help knowing that it won’t one day It hurts like it’s always gonna feel this way It hurts like it’s always gonna feel this way It hurts like it’s always gonna feel this way It don’t help knowing that it won’t one day It hurts like it’s always gonna feel this way It hurts like it’s always gonna feel this way

A time and a place A moment of grace Taps on your shoulder by surprise A break in the clouds A break from the crowd As you shimmer and you shine This is your moment in the sun Far too bright to see the end Until it’s over said and done Your moment in the sun A story to tell A drink from the well A taste of what it must be like To fall into place Have nothing to chase Feel like you finally got it right This is your moment in the sun Far too bright to see the end Until it’s over said and done Your moment in the sun Too fast…..gone to fast This is your moment in the sun Far too bright to see the end Until it’s over said and done Your moment in the sun Until it’s over, said and done Your moment in the sun

about

Available on CD and Clear Coke Bottle Vinyl + a Fan Pre-Order Exclusive Translucent Orange Vinyl that includes an autographed note from Kim - Limited pressing of 250 worldwide!

Grammy-nominated Kim Richey’s new album, Every New Beginning, features 10 tracks, written, or co-written by Richey with a coterie of characters, over the course of several years, and produced by critically lauded multi-instrumentalist and producer Doug Lancio (Patty Griffin, John Hiatt). With musical assistance from longtime collaborators like Dan Mitchell and Neilson Hubbard — who produced Richey’s 2013 album Thorn in My Heart — and newer friends like Nashville neighbor Aaron Lee Tasjan, who lends his irrepressibly sparkly musicality to the proceedings, Every New Beginning manages to continue the throughline of Richey’s nearly 30-year career while simultaneously adding a new chapter.

The songs represent the full spectrum of the Ohio native’s gifts as both a revered songwriter who can leap from melancholy to mirthful in a single couplet — whose songs have been recorded by the likes of Brooks and Dunn, Patty Loveless, and Mary Chapin Carpenter — and owner of one of music’s truly celestial voices. That voice is a widely sought after harmony instrument by scores of artists including Jason Isbell, Trisha Yearwood, Shawn Colvin, and Capt. Kirk himself William Shatner. Her music continues to loiter at the Americana intersection of country, folk, pop, and rock conjuring everything from Lucinda’s humanity, the Beatles shimmer, Tom Petty’s effervescent stomp and Joni Mitchell’s laser-sharp lyrical craft.
