The Condor is a type of transport aircraft used by the Allies force during World War II and the raid on Deathshead's Compound, used interchangeably as flying fortresses, troop transporters, and cargo planes. The aircraft themselves are slow and cumbersome and require P-51s to escort them on their mission. The aircraft's defence system is comprised of four manned turrets, each armed with sixteen machine guns - powerful enough to penetrate the armor of a Panzerhund. Despite their sturdy appearance, they are helpless against Nazi technology and are all brought down by long-range flak or flying wings.

The Old Blood[]

The aircraft are seen in the final cutscene, two are parked in an Allied airfield while several more are seen flying overhead, on their way to assault Wilhelm "Deathshead" Strasse's compound.

The New Order[]

Wolfenstein Bomber

There are over 60 used by the Allies during the raid on Deathshead's Compound. Most of the aircraft are shot down by Horten Ho 229s and long-range Flak-88 anti-aircraft cannons during the initial raid and the rest are crash landed onto the island. The mission ends in total failure and the Nazis win World War II mostly due to Deathshead's technological contributions.

The cupola on the Condor is the only weapons the Allies bring that is powerful enough to destroy a Panzerhund 1946.

It appears that the troop carrying aircrafts are designated "Condor-X" while the cargo variants are designated "Vulture-X", for example the aircraft piloted by BJ and Fergus Reid has the callsign of "Vulture-1" while the plane which private Wyatt is flying on is named "Condor-9".

Trivia.[]

  • In The Art of Wolfenstein: The New Order, the planes are referred to as prototype transport craft of which the majority were committed to the assault on Deathshead's Compound.
  • They bear a superficial resemblance to the most powerful Soviet long-range bomber of the war, the Petlyakov Pe-8 (Heavy Bomber-7), though the cockpit is reminiscent of the American B-29. It is propelled by six massive engines, which take up the majority of the aircraft's wingspan, and is defended by at least four quad-heavy machine gun turrets; two in the front, and two in the rear. Its ramshackle appearance suggests it is either a collaboration between the different Allied powers or it has been at least partly reverse engineered from Nazi designs.
  • At least one variant has a cargo hold is large enough to accommodate at least one Willy's Jeep, along with numerous cargo crates.
