Paramus Catholic High School Reviews
Rating 3.93 out of 5 314 reviews
Paramus Catholic is marketed as a college prep school that focuses on the education and safety of its students, yet they do anything but that. I received the same treatment and prepping attitude as if I were in a public school, maybe even less. The only students that received the most recourses were the white students and athletes. Many students of color have received discriminatory, racist, and unfair treatment from faculty and other students, and there was no change done. Hearing that a student was told that "he should be grateful he's not picking cotton" by a teacher, and that teacher returning, does not strike me as a a school who cares about the students.
Overall this school has really good teachers that really care about the students and their education. The classrooms are a pretty good size to where the students get a stronger connection with the teachers and any resources they need. The school lacks spirit and fun school spirited activities. The administration is extreamly strict and gives harsh punishments for small things. They care about the wrong things and don’t listen to students input. Overall the sports are pretty good and coaching is good.
Paramus Catholic High School has offered me challenging courses that have allowed me to be innovative and resourceful. Throughout these four years, I have been exposed to different types of people and beliefs, growing my perspective and knowledge. Despite this, Paramus Catholic can sometimes be stringent, not changing to the current time. In the future, I would love for PC to offer more financial literacy and self-care courses, as they are critical to a successful life. In addition, I would love for them to be open to change, as seeking the development of new clubs and activities can be challenging.
Despite room for improvement, I am forever grateful that I attended Paramus Catholic and have grown into a hard-working, strong, and determined individual.
