I loved my time at CHS. Some of my teachers were amazing but some of them felt outdated and were not interactive. There was a decent amount of school spirit and positive school culture. It is the public city school and I appreciated the diversity but given this, there were a decent amount of fights or safety concerns. However, since my younger sister has been at school there this has gotten significantly worse. The quality of education has declined, the administrative support has gotten worse, there has been a significant increase in safety concerns, and the teachers even went on strike for a short period of time.
Though my high school has flaws(fights), its unique blend of a diverse learning environment with a diverse and shifting student body creates parallels for students about the real world. My highschool has fully prepared me to the best of its ability for higher education and the eventual transition into adulthood, through the friends I have made and the lessons I have learned.
The best part of my school is the diversity. Diversity in my school is an important aspect of creating a positive learning environment. A diverse student body brings together individuals from different cultural, and racial backgrounds. I would also like safety to be better in my school as well.
