ESPN Honors Chris Fowler For Hitting Major College Football Milestone Saturday

The 89th Heisman Trophy will be awarded on Saturday night at 8 p.m. ET.

For the 30th consecutive year, the winner will be announced live on ESPN. Also for 30th straight year, the Heisman Trophy Ceremony will be hosted by Chris Fowler.

ESPN has been the exclusive home of the Heisman Trophy Ceremony since 1994. Fowler has been with the network since 1986. From 1990-2014, he hosted College GameDay and in 2014 he became the play-by-play announcer for the ABC Saturday Night Football booth alongside analyst Kirk Herbstreit

ESPN's Bill Hofheimer posted a photo of the network surprising Fowler with a Heisman-themed cake to celebrate his 30th show.

"Congrats to ESPN's Chris Fowler who will host the Heisman Trophy Ceremony for the 30th straight year tonight in NYC. Our lead ESPN producers Kate Jackson and Rob Adamski surprised Chris with a special themed cake to celebrate the incredible milestone."
