George Washington University Reviews
Rating 3.66 out of 5 2,246 reviews
I thoroughly enjoyed my overall experience at GWU! Although guidance pertaining to my studies/next steps following my education was sometimes difficult to seek (I graduated with a BA in Psychological & Brain Sciences), professors were receptive to sharing their knowledge on this matter and offered their perspective whenever applicable. It merely seems that a student needs to advocate for themself and actively search for the answers they're looking for -- it won't be offered on a platter. I found this to be the case with GWU's academic advising. Nonetheless, the academics were spectacular. I received a very well-rounded education and was surrounded by a great community. The staff, professors, and students all left a positive impression. Plus, I established meaningful friendships and connections that I know will last forever. GWU's campuses are beautiful and safe, and the main campus is conveniently located near a metro stop, allowing students to easily explore D.C.
So far I have only been online but I live in the DC area. I love this area, although it can be stressful, overwhelming, and feels unsafe for some. As long as you know how to properly operate in the city, you will be just fine either on campus or around campus. The academics at George Washington University have been great so far! The professors have all been very accessible and helpful, and classmates have also been very willing to team up and work together.
George Washington institution is a private research institution in Washington, D.C. that has a good reputation in a variety of subjects. The urban location and closeness to government agencies provide tremendous chances. However, attendance is highly expensive, even for a private university. Class sizes can be enormous, particularly in entry-level courses. The institution features strong academic programs, notably in foreign affairs, political science, and STEM subjects, which benefit from links in the nation's capital. Student life is robust, with several groups. Overall, GW provides a high-quality education, although price is a big negative for many students.
