- jruthieTulsa, OK16 contributionsWe are avid cruisers and are always looking for exceptional excursions. This was by far one of the best excursions we have ever been on. A smaller vessel picked us up from the cruise ship and as the cruise ship continued down the Fjord, we were able to cruise up close and personal to one of the glaciers. This was during early spring and there were so many Harbour seals on the ice, many with new babies. The view of the glacier that close is absolutely breathtaking and we were able to enjoy glacier ice margarita as well! The views were awe inspiring and we even got to see mountain goats and a bear. This is definitely an excursion you don't want to miss.Written October 16, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sainbashaIrvine, CA3,434 contributionsThis wildlife center is located at Girdwood, between Anchorage and Seward, in Alaska. If you are in the area it is a must visit. It is a sanctuary in which Alaskan wildlife is preserved. Injured animals are given treatment and given enclosure space here. You get to see the different animals that may be found in Alaska. You can buy the entry ticket at the gate and you can then park your car inside. You can walk around the enclosures to see the animals from close. You can also drive around the path for animal viewing.Written May 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Princess279East Brunswick, NJ1,081 contributionsIt's a little silly to review a mountain in general and even more so the tallest one in North America. However, it is an option on TripAdvisor. We got to see Denali in time for our morning coffee before departure from the resort, and she was mesmerizing. Chances are, if you stare at her long enough, she moves her clouds out of the way to make you feel her magic. Good luck!Written May 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ken kOnsted, MI2,742 contributionsIf you’re planning on visiting Alaska I recommend you take a cruise that comes to Glacier Bay. I also recommend s cruise in May so you can see the snow which makes it more beautiful. We sail on Princess which has a permit to visit Glacier Bay, The captain will do a couple 360’s in the bay.
We saw glaciers, seals, (2) bears and I saw a whale. We were here same time in May (2) years ago and I can see changes in the glaciers. A park ranger boarded our boat and narrated inside the bay.Written May 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It gives you an overview of the history of the area, including the people and animals. It’s not overly big so a couple of hours is enough. It’s very clean and bright and the staff is friendly and helpful. It’s also on the university campus which is a lovely place to see. Definitely worth a visit!Written April 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- sainbashaIrvine, CA3,434 contributionsThis is an aquarium located at Seward town in Alaska. When you are in this area, it is a good place to visit. Operating hours vary depending on season and it is better to book a ticket online as last entry is one hour before closing time. Again, an informative and educative place to visit. Specially for children it is a great place. It is a good activity for around 2 hours.Written May 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Connector484697889162 contributionsAbsolutely wonderful boat tour of Kenai Fjords National Park. I have been in all 50 states and 20+ countries and this was one of the best tours I have ever been on. Comfortable boat and great narration. The weather was excellent and we saw lots of wildlife to include sea otters, whales, Dall porpoises, sea lines, a bear, and mountain goat with kid. The boat captain's ability to spot wildlife and stop the boat to observe made the trip very worthwhile.Written May 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Princess279East Brunswick, NJ1,081 contributionsThis is the largest tidewater glacier in North America. You can hear the "thunder" of him calving with the background barking of the nearby harbor seals, icebergs crackling in the water and the seagulls. A humpback whale made an appearance as we were approaching this breathtaking glacier. His view is hypnotizing...truly once in a lifetime kind of an experience.Written May 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - John CSydney, Australia556 contributionsA very interesting Museum and not what we expected in Anchorage when we arrived at the building but when we entered, we were greeted by a vast array of exhibits which reflected the history of the area.
Well organised and the exhibits were in superior condition and the commentary clearly explained the history behind the exhibits.
Well worth a visit and is Highly Recommended.Written May 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
