There is a joke that the Smithsonian in Washington is America's attic, full of bits and bobs and memorabilia, not well organized, but in aggregate impressive. The same holds true for the Kelvingrove and Scotland, which, outside of its art collection, hosts a remarkable array of ... stuff. Chances are if you look at the next case, it will be related to what was in the previous one. Skip a few, and you're dealing with something altogether different.

That's not necessarily a bad thing, and the richness of the collection makes a certain amount of confusion understandable, if sometimes a bit head-scratching.

Once you get into the art, things are a bit easier to follow, and the museum actually manages entire galleries around themes. That includes particularly Glaswegian motifs -- Mackintosh, of course, and the "Glasgow Boys" -- as well as broader Scottish and thematic collections. While not the complete collection on display by any means, the Kelvingrove's Scot-focused art provides some extraordinarily delightful moments and themes.

The gift shops in the ground floor are pretty darned good, and the cafe has decent reputation (I did not try it).

Overall, a fine, fine place to spend a morning or afternoon.

We have visited here previously while on a coach holiday so knew what to expect on a weekend visit. As this is free to visit many many families are here at weekends so the whole place is packed.Trying to get a drink anywhere is nearly impossible and if you want anything to eat forget it.Right that’s the bad things out of the way. This place is truly outstanding as regards the display of items. From steam trains to model cars and everything in between.Well worth a visit ( not at weekends)

My wife and I visited Tennent’s Wellpark brewery today for a pint in the bar. We didn’t do the brewery tour, as we’ve done many brewery tours in other locations as well as brewing my own beer at home, so the brewing process is not new to us.

We first enjoyed a fabulous stout, that I was surprised to find, as I had read Tennent only produced lagers.

Harvey, the young man behind the bar, informed us you could only get the stout on tap in two places. Right there at the brewery, and very surprisingly, Ukraine.

We enjoyed a nice conversation with Harvey, during which we also found time to drink their unpasteurized lager.

As we were finishing up, Calum led a small brewery tour group into the bar, and we were able to listen to him explain the beer choices and drinkware specialties to the tour group, making us sad to not have gone on the tour, as Calum was humorous and very informative.

If you find yourself in Glasgow on a rainy day like today, or any day for that matter, you can’t go wrong with a pint or two at Tennent’s. You might even learn something you thought you already knew.

I love a good church and graveyard, and this place definitely delivered. However, please keep in mind it's on a hill. I was aware of it and still was completely exhausted by the time we reached the top.

My main reason for visiting this place was the cloisters because of Outlander. I was pleasantly surprised at the stunning architecture of this place. As it was sunny and peaceful. I took my time looking around some of these buildings and quadrangles. They have the Hunterian museum as well here.

Unfortunately, I went on a very rainy day but the Botanic Gardens were very nice to wonder around.

I recommend and I think it would be even more beautiful on a sunny day.

Lots of shops and restaurants to suit all budgets and tastes. Some lovely buildings and shop fronts. I enjoyed an evening stroll when it was quieter after dinner.

Kids really enjoyed their time spent here. 2 and 4 years old, a full day and nobody got bothered. Definitely worth the visit.

Excellent museum. Just recently reopened after a major refurbishment and has truly upgraded to a better level. The free tour by Morna was so good. The best tour of a museum I have been on. She kept my attention fully with her interesting stories which is unusual for me as I have a limited concentration span! The Degas exhibition was so good too. Thoroughly recommend.

Tour was well presented, building is gorgeous and the whisky is spectacular. Definitely worth a visit. There is a cafe on sight for sandwiches after you have had your tasting 😏

Just finished the Ibrox tour with John as our guide. The whole experience from start to finish was superb. It was really really enjoyable and Johns stories with his family history made it all the more interesting.

Would absolutely recommend it to anyone either supporter or just a visitor to the city. Being a fan myself I could do it every day if the week. Superb stuff. Thanks!

i cannot express to you how thankful we were to have our wedding with you all. from planning to the day it was seamless. our questions on emails answered so quickly and no silly question in your eyes. i loved getting emails from you knowing that you were so on the ball and so it allowed me to not stress at all. the meeting the master of ceremonies was a lovely touch and so thankful i got to meet her.

amber is a great asset to the team, focussed to the task in hand and led the team really well. even things i didnt think of on the day, she thought would be a nice idea she came over and got my okay to do so! so so lovely. she was so approachable and the day ran so smoothly with no hitches!

big thanks to the team who were super professional and helpful!

feedback from our families was that the day was super, the venue absolutely beautiful. there was space for the little ones to just be children without “being in the way”. our families commented on how amazing the staff were and so so pleasant.

i cant praise yourselves enough! thanks for allowing us to celebrate here on our wedding day!

    with our love
