We’ve watched the love story between Hardin Scott and Tessa Young unfold throughout the After franchise — and ICYMI, a fifth film is on the way. Although we can’t get enough of their on-screen romance, leading man Hero Fiennes Tiffin recently opened up about how he and his co-star Josephine Langford handle the dating rumors.
“It’s interesting because part of me says, like, ‘I get it,’” Hero said in an interview with J-14. “But a part of me says — when you speak to some fans who completely understand from my point of view, they validate why some people’s assumptions are a little bit, maybe immature and jumping the gun. But then again, I get it. I get why you’d see people in a film and kind of want them to be together.”
“When people are young, they care so much. It’s good that they care… I understand [the dating rumors], is probably the best way to put it,” he continued. “But I do really, really appreciate the people who do see it for what it is and see beyond the screen, and understand and respect your personal life and your private life.”
Hero added that he “understands” romance rumors are common when you’re making romantic dramas such as the After films, but he still tries to keep his personal life private.
Josephine also prefers to keep the details of her dating life hush-hush, and in a 2019 with Cosmopolitan, she, too, addressed the romance speculation. Although the actress didn’t reveal much about the rumors at the time, she did say that fans will “ship anything.”
