Holdren is the founder of Underground Football in Los Angeles, which teaches football fundamentals to kids, utilizing former NFL players as coaches. Additionally, he was responsible for the Quarterbacks NFL Draft prep at the Sports Academy (2018) and has built The Team Room on Substack which aims at helping parents and kids increase their knowledge in football.
As a player, Holdren had a notable high school career where he broke 12 school passing records at Bishop Diego High School (’96) and went on to earn a football scholarship at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
Coach Holdren shared, “My family and I are excited to join the Maranatha community and we are blessed with this opportunity to build the football program. After unprecedented times, I am looking forward to being back on the field with the kids playing the greatest game on earth.”
Maranatha Athletic Director Sammy Skinner commented, “Rand will be an outstanding addition to our coaching family. He has experience building football programs and will be a man who can lead our team spiritually on and off the field.”
After meeting Coach Holdren and getting to know him, Head of School John Rouse remarked “I was struck by his sincerity and desire to make a difference with his life. I am excited to have such a wonderful role model on our staff. Not only does he have a passion for football, but for Christ and impacting young lives through athletics.”
