What’s the best website for the cheapest flights other than Expedia?

I really want to visit my friend in Virgina from California, tickets were $340 3 months ago now it’s like $600-700 and I’m absolutely disappointed.

I just want to be able to celebrate my friends birthday.

I need all the money I can get for my rent etc. but I still want to be able to have fun and enjoy my life for once

Thank you everyone

I'm my experience kiwi can be a great option if ur willing to travel light and entertain yourself during long layovers. I spent 360$ to fly from Florida to California round trip in January but was hit with 100$ in baggage fees at the airport each way.

Airfarewatchdog.com. you need to track the prices. In my experience, Expedia is not cheap.

Wow that website is awesome thank you so much

Airfarewatchdog.com

is this fake?

not take, it's a reputable website.

There’s no cheapest website. Flight prices depend on demand, so primarily on dates. So you need to book in advance 2-3 months out and be flexible on dates and times for best prices.

Use Google Flights or similar search engines to find cheapest dates and buy direct from the airlines. Expedia and other third parties are bad choices in the age of Covid as dealing with cancellations through third parties is a pain.

To be fair... They were bad choices prior to the "age of COVID" for the exact same reason.

True but there were also a lot fewer flight changes and cancellations overall.

Most definitely!

If you already have set dates, I use google flights and set alerts for specific flights. You’ll get notified when prices go up or down for that specific flight. I’ve found some very good deals that way.

Thank you I’ll do that

Kayak

Try skiplagged

But only to find the flight; book first party. Skiplagged charges fees now that United, Delta, etc don't.

I use the app skyscanner, skiplagged and Hopper

1st trip to to London for $300 roundtrip, in Hawaii now for $250, in May cancun $150

Just have to be flexible on date, that's the key

I used Skyscanner for Cancun in May but was less flexible on dates. But got $255. Just got Costa Rica tickets for $250 in November

Scott's cheap flights

There is a website that I used years ago that was incredible and I can't find it now. It was perfect for complicated itineraries. You put in the details of what you are looking for and several people will submit a bid of thier itinerary for you. You choose one and pay them about a $30 fee. I was able to get several custom fitted plans that were cheaper, with better airlines and fewer stops/shorter layovers.

Does anyone know which site i am talking about? Please post if so because that service was incredible and I desperately need it and would be a great asset to OP and everyone here as well.

You ever find it?

I have never found it.

I know I'm super, super late to this thread, but might you be talking about flightfox.com by any chance?

No, thanks for the response on this though. Flightfox is similar, yes, but the one I used was so much better. I've tried flightfox after searching extensively for the site I was looking for and I even tried them 3 times. Once the experience was OK. The last 2 times they couldn't find me better than I could I my own.

See if nyc or Philly is any cheaper then see if the Amtrak or bus is cheap and it may be cheaper all around

I built sistercities.app with the intention of finding the cheapest flights during a range of time, with also a varying number of days in the destination. Due to this flexibility, you may find cheaper flights more quickly than the traditional comparison sites as they generally require fixed dates or a lot of manual searches across dates. Feedback/suggestions are welcomed.
