I'm surprised nobody has released Paul Grimault's Le Roi et L'oiseau (The King and the Mockingbird) outside France and Japan. There's apparently at least a 2K restoration from StudioCanal and the Blu-ray released in France seems to have a ton of extras. Would be neat to have a release with Grimault's final cut from 1980, in addition to the 50s French and British (released as The Curious Adventures of Mr. Wonderbird) cuts. The British version is worth cleaning up since the voice dubbing features Peter Ustinov, Claire Bloom, and Denholm Elliott.

Not a typo or anything that impedes understanding (also I had forgotten just how much I like the writing in the translation), but it definitely appears like some kind of formatting or mastering error with the subtitle track.
No idea how or why there is an " ' " whenever a question is asked. Thank you for your eagle eyes.

Got my Arkana and Heroic Times from OrbitDVD last week. I was really impressed by the package with the big bubbles, really great, fast shipping, everything in perfect condition. Only the price with shipping to canada is a brake from buying a lot but it was a great experience to help completing my DC collection! I can now recommend OrbitDVD if needed, i'll probably use it again in the future.

I'm not sure exactly how to do this nor am I looking to break any rules. I have standard editions of the following that I am wanting to give away; I'll cover cost for the shipping:

AR-004 Stntang
AR-005 Son of the White Mare
AR-006 Damnation
AR-007 The Films of Nina Menkes
AR-008 Chameleon Street
AR-009 Life is Cheap... But Toilet Paper is Expensive
DC-002 Delta Space Mission (reversible wrap)
DC-006 Zerograd (reversible wrap)
DC-007 Solomon King
DC-008 The Son of the Stars (reversible wrap)
DC-010 Time of Roses
DC-013 The Pied Piper

Please PM me so we don't flood this thread. I'd like to give away each release to a different person, but I'm not naive.

My last purchases from the VS store.

I wish Deaf Cocodrile a good new venture, hoping that I can continue to collect their items at an affordable price.

2) You have ZERO idea why labels leave OCN. "Euphoria" has NOTHING to do with it. I can't speak for other labels, but for us it made no sense to re-sign. Growth of our company would have been impossible and continuing as-is was not sustainable. Had we not made a change we'd likely not have been around all that much longer.

3) There's a whole big world outside of VS. If anyone has a euphoric over confidence it is the VS fans that think they're the one and only saviors of physical media.

4) "Spin off"? Again, we have always been our own label. OCN does not own us. Never has. We're simply not doing business with them any more.
40$ using an average price of standard edition + 21% VAT + international shipping costs + FedEx service tax to represent me at customs... that's where I estimated the average cost for every edition using your website.

I understand the other points but you can also understand my point of view, importing your releases to Europe, and how much it will increase them.

I don't know the percentage of European customers you have, if it's big enough maybe you could help us to get some deals (like buying items and shipping altogether in x months, special offers if you buy more than 10 items, etc.).

I'm just a customer that wants many items of you as possible, so in the new situation I have to estimate prices and offers and shipping conditions and look for the most affordable option.

I usually make large orders to compensate shipping, customs and customs representation.

For example: Indicator Sales. 243€ order (free shipping above 200 pounds). I paid 73€ additional for VAT and customs representation.

It's only a suggestion, evidently it's your business.

Really surprised that every single person asked for a different title... that will make this so much easier. I'll be getting ahold of everyone that messaged throughout this week (address). I don't have much in the way of extra swag, but I'll try to include some duplicate trading cards where I can.

Several people mentioned payment... again, no payment is necessary. I'm simply trying to clear off some shelf space, and I can no longer justify buying standard editions when I'm also buying the slipped/deluxe versions.

EDIT:

Still available:

AR-003 — Stntang
AR-008 — Chameleon Street (I really think fans of Solomon King will enjoy this one; excellent)
AR-009 — Life is Cheap ... But Toilet Paper is Expensive (this is a "remaster", utilizing original footage and new footage shot in 2001)
DC-006 — Zerograd (this is essential kino)
DC-010 — Time of Roses (the shorts alone make this disc "worth it")

Not sure if you folks will be considering releasing tv series as well on blu, but the WWII “Russian in Germany spy drama” Seventeen Moments of Spring (1973) was a classic

Everything is spoken for, I just wanted to update because I am still receiving the occasional PM. Materials are purchased and first several people have been messaged for addresses. Mailing will be beginning of next week rather than the end of this week because I have a gathering Sat/Sun I forgot about.

Thanks for your patience everyone. I know it's free but I'm not trying to make enemies over free stuff.

EDIT: Everyone that is receiving something has already been notified as of 2 minutes ago. Thank you again, all!

During the past week, decided to order a copy of Solomon King (directly from Deaf Crocodile), which has subsequently shipped.

Another suggestion:

Manden der tnkte ting (The Man Who Thought Life, 1969) - obscure Danish science fiction, based on a novel from 1938.

Synopsis from IMDB: Mr. Steinmetz has the ability to create things and beings by will alone, but his creations always disappear. He approaches a famous brain surgeon to help him, but when he refuses, Steinmetz brings his doppelganger into being to replace him.

Short clip (in Danish - the whole film is available on YouTube with English subs, but since the legality is dubious, I am not going to link to it).

Supposedly it is one of Gaspar No's favorite movies, and he calls a friend of mine (who is a local film distributor) at least once a year to try to get my friend to sell his original Danish poster for it.

This blogpost has a lot of screenshots showing the films use of architecture.

I'd love to see some early Ptushko - The New Gulliver, The Golden Key, and The Stone Flower. Perhaps a set?

Thank you for posting about this film! From the YT clip and blog images, it looks incredible. A DC release would be a day-one purchase.

The other Ptsushko titles have sold very well for DC. I would hope and assume that DC would consider more of them for the future, if possible.

Maybe Craig will chime in about this subject at some point.

Not sure if they're all with Mosfilm, but any negations on more films seems pretty unlikely at this point

Secondly, our discs are Region locked because we typically only license North American rights. It would be unethical to license for a single territory and then release a region free disc. For the rare title(s) we do have world rights to, a region free release would limit potential overseas sublicenseing opportunities.
