Clem wrote on his Instagram account, 'It's on TV so it's officially official: we're ENGAGED AF! Otis is undecided in his emotions but we're excited as heeeeeell!'
Rothe appears in the current horror thriller Happy Death Day 2U, playing the lead role of Tree Gelbman. The film is a sequel to 2017's Happy Death Day, which took in $125 million internationally - off of a budget of just $4.8 million - with a storyline many compared to a horror incarnation of 1993 classic Groundhog Day.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday, Rothe hailed the film's writer-director Chris Landon for his understanding of the history of cinema and how he applies it into his art.
'The thing that’s amazing about working with Chris Landon is that he has such an encyclopedic knowledge of all films in all genres,' she said. 'Obviously, I was there when we shot the movie; I was in almost every frame.

'And yet, when I watch it, I’m like, “Oh, s***! That’s there, too!” So, every influence is such a fun and delightful thing to discover.'
In the chat with the publication, Rothe revealed she was not a big horror fan growing up 'because [she's] a total chicken.
'I watched horror films growing up, and I would love watching them with friends,' she said. 'But then, I would spend the next week sleeping in my parents’ room because I would be so scared. When The Ring came out, it destroyed me for an entire week. I just couldn’t deal with how terrifying that film was.'
Rothe said she's 'started watching more horror films now' as part of the franchise, but still gets frightened from time to time.
Happy Death Day 2U is in theaters now.
