山陽電車人丸前駅には、東経百三十五度が通っています。目の前には天文科学館が見えます。坂を登ると、柿本人麻呂公をお祀りした人丸神社があります。ここからは明石海峡大橋が間近に見えます。魚ん棚商店街までも徒歩圏です。

たまにはプラネタリウムも壮大なイメージをふくらませながら、ロマンチックでいいものですね。意外に懐かしいイメージのままのプラネタリウムで、説明を聞きながら楽しめました。展示も見ごたえありました！

東経１３５度００分００秒。日本標準時子午線の真上に建てられ、外の地では真似のできない〝時と宇宙〟に特化したサイエンス・ミュージアムです。最寄り駅となる「明石駅」から徒歩でのアクセスが可能ですが、より近い山陽電鉄「人丸前駅」で降り立ち向かうことをお勧めします。同駅には鉄道駅で唯一子午線が通るプラットホームがあるからです。幅十数センチメートルのペイントで示され、見上げる〝太線〟の先が塔頂に大時計を抱く科学館です。
１６階からなる館内は洒落たオブジェをあしらったエントランスから始まり、２階には日本最古で現役活躍中のカール・ツァイス・イエナ社製の機械を据えたプラネタリウムが設けられています。３階フロアーでは時や天文に関するギャラリーの展示内容が豊富で、近い将来には重要文化財となるであろうと勝手に思いを馳せる珍しい機器も公開されています。４階屋上にあるユニークな日時計広場や明石海峡大橋が一望できる高塔上階の展望室を含め、子供から大人まで楽しめるファシリティがてんこ盛りです。
特筆すべきは、スタッフの企画力のようです。〝シゴセンジャー〟と名乗る生身で痛快な〝ユルくないキャラクター〟を登場させ、１３５個限定などのグッズを販売して訪れる天文・科学ファンの人気を博しているようです。博物館・美術館の学芸員等を読者層とした専門誌(雑誌「ミュゼ」)にも紹介されていて、当該館のプロジェクトはこの業界において有名なことが窺えます。子午線上の世界各地域にミュージアムショップのサテライトが置かれると愉快だろ～なと思いました。

近くに住んでいたとしたら、年間パスポートを買って何度でも行きたい場所。坂道がきついので、足の弱い方は駅からタクシーもいいでしょう。柿本人麻呂を祭る柿本神社が近くにあったのは驚きでしたが、ついでにお参りしてしまいました。

プラネタリウムが好きで、期待していましたが。。。こんなものかと。特に普通でした。一度行ってみたかったので、もういいかと。

子午線の通る天文台。日本標準時をつかさどる天文台で、今は天文科学館といいます。
全国にちゃちなプラネタリウが広がるなかで、カールツアイス製の古い投影機はしっかり活躍しています。投影時間も５０分、入場料はプラネタリウム混みで７００円です。
２回も見てしまいました。解説も素晴らしいです。
１４階の展望室からは、明石海峡大橋が一望できます。

明石市立天文科学館は、山陽電鉄「人丸前駅」の北側で徒歩数分です。明石市立天文科学館は1960年の開館で、東経135度の日本標準時子午線の真上に建っている科学館です。日本の標準時を刻んでいます。天文に関する資料などの展示、特にプラネタリウムについては興味深いものがあります。家族ずれでいかがでしょうか。

いたるところに標準子午線のラインがあります。14階の展望台からの眺めはとてもよく、明石海峡大橋もはっきり見ることができます。もちろん展望台にも子午線ラインはありました。プラネタリウムにも行きましたが、暗い中でやさしい声での案内は子守唄に聞こえてしまいました。

日本の標準時を決める子午線の上にある天文台。
自分子供のころは近くにそういうものがあることを誇らしく思ってたけど今の子供はどうなんでしょうね。
天文学に興味ある子供はわくわくすると思います。
久しぶりに訪れると正確な子午線は昔とはずれた位置にあることがわかったりそれはそれで新鮮でした。
プラネタリウムはやっぱり寝ちゃいますね。大人はお疲れなんです。
これからの夏の季節は涼しく過ごせる場所としてもお薦めです。

明石駅から歩くと、お手軽なハイキングコースです。登り口には亀の水といわれる湧水が飲めます。そこから階段を登っていくと明石大橋を望む海が広がります。天文科学館の少し上には柿本人麻呂を祭る柿本神社が参拝できます。プラネタリウムだけでなく、ちょっとディープな明石を堪能できます。
