It's a beautiful bout of heartbreak via Twigs' honeyed vox and slithering synths. It's a display of sublime balladry.

Pretty Much Amazing

That her entire second EP has such a distinctive, cohesive sound that’s considerably more than the sum of its fascinating parts suggests the attention FKA twigs ought to be paid from here on out.

Pitchfork

The level of detail is immense, but never too fussy. Still, the sense of space from EP1 is largely gone-- even in its sparsest moments this is a work that bears down on you, barely allowing any room to breathe.

Tiny Mix Tapes

EP2 is a refreshing and remarkably concise collaborative effort, showing that, given the right push, FKA twigs is more than capable of crafting an environment that is stimulating on both aesthetic and intellectual levels.

AllMusic

Barnett still only has a handful of songs to her name, yet the way she brings together vast spaces and dense sounds, as well as love and pain, makes it a stunning body of work.

Consequence of Sound

FKA Twigs has crafted a distinguished and distinguishable sound, and a keen ear for how her plaintive, yet powerful voice works in the spaces of her productions.

The progression between ‘EP1 ‘and this release is arguably the role of Arca, whose abstractions create a perfect foil for Twigs to showcase the maturity and confidence in songwriting.

The Line of Best Fit

While EP2 is conceptually an intriguing release, the slowness of it as a whole can get decidedly tiresome.

EP2 is yet another 14 minute venture for FKA Twigs and the level of improvement from EP1 to EP2 is absolutely insane. The level of quality the production sounds like is better then most big artists working today. It's translucent and liquid gold as it flows around with FKA Twig's glistening voice. This is some of the most stellar production I've heard in a good minute and it is truly blowing my mind FKA Twigs was so ahead of the game. Every single song here is making me float and I can't ... read more

FKA TWIGS DEEP DIVE: 2/6

I much prefer EP1 over this. I still like what’s going on here in terms of production, but I just vibe more to EP1. Just personal preference, but I don’t want to downplay how creative and cool this EP is! There are some great ideas here, I just feel indifferent to the execution of those ideas.
