“ | “Customize your loadout” now has a whole new meaning. Located in vaults are Mod Benches, which have mods available for many weapons in exchange for Bars. Add mods that reduce recoil, increase mag capacity, and more
Save up your Bars wisely, though, as not every mod works with every weapon. |

Weapon Mods are a feature in Fortnite: Battle Royale. They were introduced in Chapter 5: Season 1. Each weapon mod adds a certain perk to the weapon such as reducing recoil, increasing magazine size, adding magnification when aiming down sights, among others. Weapon mods come in four categories: Optic, Magazine, Underbarrel, and Barrel. They can be obtained at Mod Benches in exchange for Bars. It costs 75 Bars to add or switch any attachment. There is no cost to remove an attachment. The name of the player who modified the weapon will be displayed on the inventory.
Types of Attachments[]
Some weapons cannot use certain mods. Most mod-compatible weapons come with mods already attached, with the number of mods equipped based on the rarity. Uncommon weapons will have one mod, while Rare ones have two mods, Epic ones have three, and Legendary ones have either three or four. The Reaper Sniper Rifle is the only exception to this rule, as it can come with an extra mod.

Mod Benches[]
Mod Benches are found all over the Helios island, particularly in vaults. The benches are marked on the map, to highlight their location. Mod Benches cannot be destroyed. A mod bench allows a player to apply Weapon Mods to their Weapons. Modifying allows players to adjust the optic, foregrip, etc on their weapon, if it supports modding, for the cost of 75 Bars per weapon. All vaults that require a Medallion to open will always have a Mod Bench inside, and any vault that requires a Keycard has a small chance of spawning a Mod Bench.

Strategy[]
- It is key to have loadouts that you are familiar with. Otherwise you could end up in a gunfight and not be familiar with your loadout, putting you at a disadvantage.
- It is best to mod your weapons on higher rarities if possible.
- Using the Laser Mod on a Thunder Burst SMG will make it extremely accurate while hipfiring.
- Modding your Assault Rifles with a vertical foregrip will make them more accurate in ADS, which is preferred if your Assault Rifle has an optic.

Trivia[]
- If a player mods the weapon, their name will be branded onto the modded weapon. (Example: "[Player's Name]'s [Weapon].")
- Assault Weapons are the only weapons capable of utilizing every single mod.
- No Mythic Weapon uses the Laser and the Thermal Optic mod.
- Before Chapter 5: Season 2, this was also the case for the Sniper Optic, but that was changed with the addition of Zeus' Huntress DMR.
- Cerberus' Gatekeeper Shotgun is the only Mythic Weapon to use a default Weapon Mod.
- There are two Mythic Weapons that were perhaps intended to be added into the game with unknown mods: Diamond Heart's Enforcer AR and Totally Peter's Ranger Pistol.
- Despite the Ranger Pistol being unable to equip the Speed Foregrip, it is still able to appear as a Close Quarters Ranger Pistol. To where it would have no underbarrel attachments equipped.
