The space
A beautiful house designed by NZ architect Harry Turbott who designed the Arataki Visitors Centre in the Waitakere Ranges.

You will stay in our 1 bedroom semi-detached hut/guesthouse nestled amongst native kauri forest.

The bedroom with Queen sized bed is upstairs and down the spiral staircase the living area and bathroom are found.

The space has its own fireplace and a small 2 element stove and mini oven so you can cook a meal. Microwave, jug and toaster are supplied too.
All dishes are supplied and done for you by the host.

A deck on one side and a patio off the bedroom upstairs. Have dinner amongst the trees and under the stars or just relax in the sun.

Unwind and have a glass of wine while soaking in our spa pool then grab a good book and de-stress in the sauna.

Plenty of outside spaces and a short walk down to the stream.

Beautiful bush walks nearby.

There are stairs everywhere so our property is not suitable for people requiring wheelchair access.

Guest access
Guests have access to the kitchen, washing machine and dryer in the main house should they wish to use them.

Swanson stream runs through the property.

Other things to note
Guests should note that the hut/guesthouse suits a couple or 2 people that don’t mind sharing a bed as there is only one queen sized bed.

We will accept 2 people along with 1 or 2 children (or other adults) however they will sleep on foam mattresses on the floor as there is only the one bed upstairs.

Although children are more than welcome please be aware that our house is not particularly child friendly. There are stairs absolutely everywhere, quite high decks with no railings, windows that open right up with a 5m drop below, the property is not fenced and borders a large forest and stream on one side and a road on the other.
The pool is fully fenced.

Please remember that we have 2 dogs - a small dog called Max and a big dog called Bruce who has not been neutered yet. They are both friendly but will bark upon your arrival, Bruce is very excitable at first but chills out once he has said hi.
