Hilary Duff is celebrating her first Mother's Day as mom of four following the arrival of her newborn baby girl, Townes Meadow Bair, on May 3. Her husband, Matthew Koma, sang his wife's praises in a series of images he posted to Instagram stories on May 12.

“To the greatest to ever do it, Hilary Duff," Koma wrote. "Watching you be a mother to our kiddies is a masterclass in parenthood, patience, love and fashion."

The couple shares three daughters, Banks, Mae and Townes. Duff has an older son, Luca, from her previous marriage to Mike Comrie.

"Mother of bread," he wrote of her sourdough skills.

"Mother of pets," he captioned a photo of Duff with a pooch.

"Mother of flies," he joked of Duff wielding an electric fly swatter.

"Mother of hot," he wrote in a nod to her steamy magazine photo shoots.

"It’s an honor to get to do this whole raising kids thing with you, and I’m so glad you quadrupled down and decided to do it again and again and again with me," he wrote. "I’ve been called a mother f----- so many times in my life but it’s never meant as much as it does in the context of us."

Along with an image of Mae staring at a poster of Duff, he added, "P.S. Our kids are starting to figure out who you are in the world."

Even with all the chaos of a house full of kids, Duff wouldn’t have it any other way.

In a June 2023 interview with Shape magazine, Duff said, “I love my loud household with mayhem and the craziness and all the love and all the dirt. I love (parenting) with my husband. I love feeling like hugs and cuddles can make everything better. I love the pressure of being like, ‘How the f--- are we going to make it through this day?’ And making it through the day.”

Still, the couple has drawn the line at four kids. Koma confirmed as much when he hilariously documented every step of his vasectomy on Instagram.

Here’s everything to know about Duff’s three older children.

Luca Cruz Comrie

Duff gave birth to her first child, Luca, when she was 24 years old.

At the time, she was married to Luca’s dad, retired hockey player Mike Comrie, and she was among the first of her inner circle to deal with the challenges of motherhood.

“I don’t remember setting him down for the first three months of life,” Duff revealed on "The Motherly Podcast." “I knew it was the most important, biggest job in the world, but it looks very different once you’re just in the household with the baby by yourself all the time.”

Duff and Comrie divorced after four years of marriage, but they will always be in each other's lives for their son.

“We’re so ingrained in each other’s lives," Duff said in an interview with Cosmopolitan. "I wouldn’t choose anyone else to co-parent with. We are really good friends and care a lot about each other."

Luca, recently turned 12 and to celebrate the special occasion, the actress posted a heartwarming montage on Instagram March 20.

“Another year for the books Luca!!!!” Duff, 36, wrote in the caption. “Happy 12 my golden joy!!!!”

Banks Violet Bair

Duff and her husband, Matthew Koma (born Matthew Bair), welcomed their first daughter into the world on Oct. 25, 2018.

Duff told TODAY.com that she wanted to choose a “strong name, almost like a last name for a first name."

“We were also living in SoHo at the time, and there was an event for a girl in prison for drawing or writing,” Duff said. “We were walking to dinner one night and saw it and I said, ‘Oh my gosh. We have to go with that name — it’s perfect.’”

In 2022, Duff told Cosmopolitan that Banks is a big fan of her singing. "We get in the car and I have to listen to my own music because my daughter’s screaming, 'I want ‘parks,’ I want ‘parks.’" Duff said, alluding to her song "Sparks." "Like, girl. I’m not rolling up to your preschool blasting my own s---. So embarrassing."

During a spring 2024 performance, Duff shared photos of her kids on her Instagram Story, which featured an adorable shot of Banks in full face paint.

A six-armed Banks, dressed as “Goliath the bird-eating tarantula,” helps move a set piece to transition to a new scene. Duff commented, “She looks like she might pass out. Forgot that screen, girl.”

Mae James Bair

When Duff was pregnant the third time, she was convinced she was having a boy — even in the delivery room.

“When she came out, I was completely shocked,” she explained. “We had a boy name picked out, and it was going to be Otto because I love ‘The Diary of Anne Frank.’ The dad’s name, who got her book published, was Otto Franklin, who was really good man. So then we were kind of scrambling at the last minute and both of our moms were born in May. So we went with Mae Mae.”

Mae James Bair was born on March 24, 2021, and she keeps her family on their toes.

Recently, this little “princess” turned 3. Duff posted photos of Mae’s birthday weekend in her social media. She included some images of Mae’s first days on earth, as well as what looks like a princess-fueled, action-packed birthday party.

In the photos, Mae shows off her elaborate face paint, her prowess in sliding into a pastel ballpit and her new friends, Mirabel and Elsa from the Disney movies “Encanto” and “Frozen.” She also gives Duff a sweet peck on the lips.

In the caption, Duff noted that “Mae Mae” loves jumping in puddles, “’pantry food,’ ‘leggins wiff a dress,’ ‘smoodies,’ made-up stories at night, your sis and bro, unicorns, adventures, clean hands, dancing to ‘Karma,’ doing things all by yourself and being fair!!”

On May 9, 2024 Duff shared images from daughter Mae’s spring performance, writing, “I don’t think I’ll ever be the same!” The plot of the show is difficult to discern, but it hardly matters because the actors’ cuteness trumps all.

Dressed in a pink fuzzy onesie and wearing face paint in a staged jungle setting, 3-year-old Mae gamely sings, “Let’s go, team!” along with her fellow actors. Kissing Mae after the performance, Duff carries baby Townes in a sling.

Townes Meadow Bair

“I have been dreaming of holding you in my arms for months, and the past five days of getting to know you, stare at you and smell you has been pure moments of magic,” Duff wrote of her youngest daughter, who entered the world on May 3. “We all love you like you’ve been here all along, beauty.”

Just a week after she was born, baby Townes attended her sisters' spring performance from her mom's sling wrapped across her chest.

Duff shared a handful of additional snuggly photos of Townes and asked followers, “Did my sourdough journey contribute to her cheeks?”

All in all, this mom looks like she’s completely in love with her baby.

And she's not the only one! Duff posted an adorable video of her daughter Banks sweetly cradling her little sister.

“I’m going to put her in my share box for share and I’m going to show her to my school,” Banks says of her baby sister.

When someone on the other side of the camera asks Banks what she’s going to say about her little sister, she responds, “This is Townes.” The voice then says, “And she is...” when Banks jumps in to continue, “My baby!”
