I can help you close the gap between where you are as a writer and where you want to be.

Over the course of my thirty years as a professional writer, I've worked with producers, directors, agents, editors and executives.  I've studied, attended seminars, participated in writers’ groups, and traded feedback with talented and successful writer friends. I've written with partners, on teams and gone it alone. And I was the happiest and most productive when I was working with a coach. Someone who gave me assignments and held me accountable. A professional who knew the craft better than I did, could tell if I was slacking and wouldn’t let me get away with it.

 

As Your Coach, I Will:​

• Meet with you by Zoom, at appointed times, to brainstorm, review assignments and discuss anything you wish about the writing process and content of your project.

• Teach you time-honored and reliable tools for crafting the elements that make up your project, and work alongside you until you get the hang of it.

• Help you create a sacred, creative workspace you can take with you wherever you go.

• Help you develop a workable writing schedule you can stick with, including times to rest and recharge, so you don’t burn out.

• Help you test and adjust elements of your work using classic story structure, in order to write the most effective and emotionally satisfying story possible.

• Review pages you send me in Microsoft Word or Final Draft attachments, and provide feedback addressing structure, character development, chapter and scene breakdown, style, tone, dialog and pacing.

• Provide assignments, handouts, articles and book recommendations that pertain to your project.

• Be available by email 9am-4pm PST, Monday-Friday, to answer quick questions and provide mid-week pep talks.

• Support and encourage you to keep going when it gets hard—which it always does.

Below are two packages I offer. Your choice should depend on how much time you want to devote to your writing each week—both practically and emotionally—and how much guidance you’re looking for.

 

Monthly coaching plan #1 - $600

• Four 1-hour coaching sessions per month via Zoom.

• Up to ten pages per week/40 per month of manuscript reading & feedback.

 

Monthly coaching plan #2 - $400

• Two 1-hour coaching sessions per month.

• Up to five pages per week/20 pages per month of manuscript reading & feedback.
