On the occasion of the 32nd UNFP Trophies ceremony, which will take place on May 13, Eliesse Ben Seghir is one of the nominees in the best hopeful category. Big candidates will be facing him for this trophy.

Ben Seghir is opposed to young monsters

Despite a season that was not really exceptional, as it was punctuated by numerous injuries, including several to the thigh, the Monegasque number 7 played a total of 11 matches with one goal and one assist under his belt. The young French hopeful still managed to show the extent of his potential during the 2023/2024 financial year.

Ben Seghir is part of a very qualitative list where Rayan Cherki, Warren Zaire-Emery, Leny Yoro and Désiré Doué are the four other nominees to win the UNFP trophy for best hope of the 2023-2024 season. Unlike Ben Seghir, these players are having a more than remarkable season and have established themselves in their squads.

AS Monaco often in the spotlight

The appointment of Eliesse Ben Seghir is the only one who represents the principality club during this 2023/2024 season. Currently 2nd in the championship with a good chance of playing in the Champions League next year, the coach Adi Hütter is not among the nominees for the title of best coach of the season. Luka Elsner, Luis Enrique, Franck Haise, Paulo Fonseca and Éric Roy are candidates in this category.

Despite few nominations, Monaco has always been one of the clubs which have had nominations for several years. Previously, Thierry Henry and Patrice Evra had won the title of best hope under the red and white colors. More recently, it was Kylian Mbappé in 2017 and Aurélien Tchouaméni in 2021 who won this trophy.

For Eliesse Ben Seghir, this is her second nomination in a row for the title of best hopeful. With a worse performance than last season, the Monaco nugget should not bring the trophy to the rock.
