Quiet obviously Baby Washington really shined on her Ballads! To further prove this just ask those who do know about her and they will quickly start naming the Ballads and Mid-Tempo recordings that were hits on Billboard's Singles Charts like: "The Time" (#22), "The Bells" (#20), "Nobody Cares" (#17), "That's How Heartaches Are Made" (#10), "The Clock" (#36), "It'll Never Be Over For Me" (#22), And "Only Those In Love" (#10). There was some uptempo that also found their way onto Billboard's Singles Charts such as: "Handful Of Memories" (#16), "Leave Me Alone" (#21), "Hey There Lonely One" (#100), "I Can't Wait Until I See My Baby's Face" (#93), And "Who's Gonna Love Me" (#31). There are several Singles that could have and/or should have been Charting Hits, but we'll never know why. There are also 2 (Two) Holiday Gems: "White Christmas" and "Silent Night". ALL of her Hits, B-Sides, And Misses are to be found on this exciting collection! ALL of the tracks on this Double Disc are in MONO. I have yet to hear about ANY of them ever appearing in STEREO, So I think it's safe to say it's safe to say they only exist in MONO ONLY! The overall sound quality is real nice. Understand that these are recordings date from 1959 to 1968, So they're not gonna be in perfect and/or flawless sound. This is NOT just for Collectors Only, but for ANYBODY who wants to know about Baby Washington during her heydays!
It should also be noted that the Uptempo Tracks are pretty much the R&B sounds of the late 50's & the early 60's, and these are not your sought after Northern Soul favorites. For the most part you'll get a Full Spectrum of Baby Washington's best work, And this is the best collection for your money!
