The NFL today is almost like a different game compared to the way it was played back in the day. The players were often bloody and muddy, the quarterbacks weren’t treated like fragile primadonnas, and the logos and lore were legendary. If you are nostalgic for the Gridiron greatness of the past, this sub is for you.

Heres a interesting fact about him:
He was born in the 20's, played to the mid 70's
Thats golden.
He was drafted in 1949
And played until 1976
Fuckin WILD
He has a street in Youngwood PA named after him.
And this was back in the days when quarterbacks were still targets on the field. Sacks were brutal blindsides and helmets to the ribs.
To take that kind of abuse and still last longer than some of today’s QBs who are rarely put on the ground anymore, is even more impressive.
So far - Tom Brady, later this year when he gets bored of retirement.
And signs with the New York Jets 😂 I would love to see the look on Bill Belichick's face 😂
As a Pats fan I would hate it. Rogers being relegated to backup would be a decent consolation prize though. Or he could just follow Jimmy G everywhere and push him down the depth chart.
Assuming his minority ownership of the Raiders goes through as expected, he won't be able to play anyway so it's a moot point
He'll just be the next George Halas. Then he will coach for 40 years and get more wins than Bill.
What about a browns jersey?
Back to the Pats to mentor the young QB and to win a superbowl without Belichick in NE. I'd buy that ticket.
Brady should have learned how to kick field goals he might still be out there if he’d mastered that.
He did punt a few times.
George Blanda was some old geezer who would win games for the Raiders in the last second when I was a kid. And Tom Brady is that kid who came out of nowhere to win the Super Bowl for the Patriots.
The picture isn't autographed: Blanda had his name embroidered on his pants to save time signing things for the fans.
I had his 1976 Topps football card. It was the only card I recall that listed the player’s statistics in portrait mode rather than the standard landscape mode.
…and also the only one that included details of the player’s service in the Civil War.
I thought that was Captain Andrew Luck.
Wasn't there a joke in Happy Days about him being old in the 50s
Yeah! Theee was! BEFORE HE WAS WITH THE RAIDERS!! He was with the oilers before his raiders time!
It was actually fun watching him take snaps. His first 3 plays didn’t go anywhere, but he came off the field grinning... and then he got himself untracked!
He was great, Quarterback and kicker, loved him on the RAIDERS.
A real gentleman
