Chesapeake Shores Renewed for Final Season at Hallmark Channel
Hallmark Channel will head back to Chesapeake Shores one last time: The network has renewed the ensemble family drama for a sixth and final season, TVLine has learned. The 10-episode swan song is slated to premiere this summer.
The returning cast for Season 6 includes Meghan Ory, Robert Buckley, Treat Williams, Barbara Niven, Laci J. Mailey, Emilie Ullerup, Brendan Penny and Andrew Francis.
“With a top-notch ensemble cast and creative team, Chesapeake Shores has shared stories that are relatable, poignant and unforgettable,” Laurie Ferneau, Hallmark’s SVP of Programming, Series, said in a statement. “We look forward to honoring the journey viewers have been on with the O’Briens with one final, special season.”
The series follows the O’Brien family and their romantic and professional relationships. The fifth season saw the exit of longtime cast member Jesse Metcalfe, who played musician Trace Riley, an on-and-off love interest for Ory’s character Abby O’Brien. Following Trace’s departure in Episode 2, Buckley (iZombie) joined the cast as eccentric entrepreneur Evan Kincaid, whose hotel development project with the O’Briens’ construction company led to a love/hate relationship with Abby.
In the Season 5 finale, Abby left a voicemail, suggesting they give a relationship a shot, but whether she was calling Evan or her other suitor, teacher Jay, is unknown. Other highlights from the episode: Kevin opened up to his parents about his wife Sarah’s miscarriage; Jess’ husband David learned that his trust fund was cleaned out and the FBI is looking for his father; Mick encouraged ex-wife Megan to take a job at The Getty; Bree’s friend Luke was cleared when Connor proved he got a false positive on his drug test; and Connor gave Margaret a kiss before collapsing from a heart attack!

I am really happy about this returning. I have always enjoyed this show. Too bad this is the final season.
So glad it will be on for at least one more season please bring Metcalf back and
give us a happy ending… there is enough sadness in the world right now
Ridiculous that Hallmark ends this fantastic show and keep When calls the heart for season after season. This show is one of my favorites! So sad it is ending! Maybe GAC will pick it up.

When Calls The Heart is a great show, as is, Chesapeake Shores. There is plenty of air time for both shows. Especially since they took the Good Witch off. If not careful, I will stop watching Hallmark all together.
Very good series. Need more like this. Those one hour movies are repeats with every storyline the same. Just different characters and location. HALLMARK truly only has four stories tops that they rewrite. Boring.
I liked the show, but stopped watching when Jesdie Metcafe left. Unless he is part of the returning cast, I wont ccx watch it again.
I ❤ the entire Chesapeake Shores cast (most especially Treat Williams, Barbara Niven, Diane Ladd and Gregory Harrison). Sincerely hope the final season continues the excellence of prior years. Will greatly miss the O’Briens but the show has had a good run and nothing lasts forever.

Hope now Meghan is casted in a show I’ll actually like. Before Once went into the gutter she showed to have good range as an actress she was smart to leave when she did. Just wish she chose a better show than a one and done dollar discount Chuck rip off without the soul.
Please don’t end this show. I love the new love…much happier and cute!! We simply need more shows like this to escape all the ugliness in this world right now!

It’s very frustrating for a viewer having watched on Netflix all the current episodes for it to end on a cliffhanger with no commitment to return. Una serie preciosa. Un día sin querer la coloque en Netflix y quedé encantado con la historia. Amo los paisajes, los lugares, la cuidad es precioso. Un lugar de ensueño. Pero amo a esta familia. Quisiera que no acabase la serie pero todo llega a su fin. Lo que mas lamento fue la salida de Trace y de manera tan inesperada. Pero en fin. La serie es demasiado linda me encanta. Hacen falta series así en estos tiempos dónde hay tanta frialdad y maldad en el mundo. Mi actor favorito es sin lugar a dudas el Señor Mick o Brian. Saludos desde Chile.

Am so pleased gonna be another season but at same time am gutted it gonna be the last one. Last one left us on edge with what was what with Conna after having a heart attack near the car. Hope he has not left the program.
When is Chesapeake Shores Season 6 scheduled?
Really enjoy Chesapeake and think it had more than one season left in it. Would really have liked to see Jesse metcalfe return for finale as Evan just doesn’t match up.
Commented about chesapeake and this is just a general observation: why do Netflix not continue shows that are great and yet keep going with mediocre offerings??? Bloodline was the perfect example of a fabulous storyline with depth and longevity and yet they canned it a series 3 making for a shabby ending to what had so much potential and yet sons of anarchy and breaking bad seemed to run for eons. Bad judgements quite often about good shows 😕
My daughter and I watch Chesapeake Shores and also the reruns we really have enjoyed the new characters that you brought on this season would love to see Abby and Evan have a relationship when Trace was on it was all about him and not really the O’Brien family now that he is gone it includes all of the family which is really great please don’t end this series it is one of the best family ones you have on Hallmark

Why do all the feel good series get cancelled and all we’re left with is violent programs, fake people & car programs!!! Totally fed up with the crap that’s aired & thinking that’s what everyone wants to watch 😖😖😖
