Requirements

AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition is supported on systems running compatible AMD Radeon™ Series Graphics and these operating systems:

  • Windows® 11 version 21H2 and later
  • Windows® 10 64-bit version 1809 and later

Note: The steps outlined below are based on AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 23.9.1 (Full Install) and the screenshots used are for illustrative purposes only. Depending on your system configuration some options and settings may not be available to you, or exactly as shown in the examples provided.

Setup and Install

These steps are based on AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition and screenshots used are for illustrative purposes only. Depending on your system configuration some options and settings may not be available to you, or exactly as shown in the examples provided. For instructions on unattended installation using the command line interface refer to: Radeon™ Software Command Line Installation User Guide

Note: Consider closing all open applications and temporarily disable anti-virus, firewall, remote access, and streaming services, before running setup to avoid potential conflicts.

To setup and install AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition, follow these steps: 

  1. After the download is complete, open the save folder and double-click the file to begin setup.
  2. Click Install to unpack the setup files. Note: It is recommended to use the default location.
  3. AMD Software Installer should automatically launch and check the system for driver and software compatibility.
  1. Choose whether to allow AMD to collect information to contribute to the installer development. For more information about AMD collecting and processing data from your device during installation refer to the AMD Privacy Policy. Review the AMD Software End Under License Agreement. If you agree to the EULA terms and conditions continue with the installation.
  2. Click Install to use default settings for standard install.
  1. Click Additional Options for custom install choices, described below:
  • Install Types:
    • Full Install - Provides all AMD Software features and controls for gaming, recording, streaming, and tweaking your performance on your graphics hardware.
    • Minimal Install - Provides only the basic controls for AMD Software features and does not include advanced features such as performance tweaking or recording and capturing content.
    • Driver Only - Provides no user interface for AMD Software features.
  • Install Location - For changing the default install location. Note: It is recommended to use the default location (C:\Program Files\AMD) for installation.
  • Factory Reset (Optional) - Removes all prior versions of the AMD Software Package and temporarily pauses Windows Updates on your system. The AMD Software Installer will restart the system after removing all of the existing versions and will automatically continue the installation upon reboot. Note: You will not be able to roll back to the previously installed drivers.
  • Keep user settings - Saves your current AMD Software settings, profiles, and reapplies them after installation has completed. Note: This option is available when using Factory Reset on systems with another version of AMD Software installed.
  1. Driver installation should take no more than a few minutes to complete. It is normal for the display to flicker momentarily while changes are being applied.
  1. When installation has finished, the checkbox “Allow AMD to collect anonymous usage information.” allows you to opt-in/opt-out for AMD’s User Experience Program. To learn about AMD’s User Experience Program, refer to this page.
  1. Click Restart to complete the installation by allowing changes to take effect. Click Finish to restart later.
