Clapham Junction (DVD, 2007) for sale online | eBay
Written by Kevin Elyot, Clapham Junction is a snapshot of the mixed experiences of several gay men whose lives interconnect over 36 hours in London. From a civil partnership ceremony to a dinner party, five separate stories are woven into the fabric of modern day London from school and work, to bars and clubs in one hot summer in the capital. Will and Gavin are celebrating their civil partnership when Will's roving eye is caught by Alfie, a good-looking waiter at their reception who may change the course of their marriage forever. Terry lives on an estate in south London and looks after his much-loved Nan, who wishes he'd meet a nice girl and settle down. But his evenings are spent thrill-seeking in gay bars and clubs, where he spots Alfie having a quick drink after his shift at the wedding. Meanwhile Roger and Belinda are hosting a dinner party in their beautiful house on Clapham Common. As they prepare for the evening their home help Dolly talks proudly of how well her son Danny is doing at school, without realising the bullying that he is being subjected to. Robin arrives at the dinner party from a meeting having had his latest script rejected by TV executive Frank Winterton. Robin instantly recognises Marion's husband Julian from a very different social situation, but Marion remains oblivious to their knowing glances. Natasha and Peter are also at the dinner party, believing that they have left their son Theo revising hard for his exams. But Theo would rather spend his evening spying on Tim, a neighbour for whom he has developed an increasingly passionate crush. When the dinner party guests see police car lights outside on Clapham Common, they are unaware that a brutal attack has taken place there, and the shocking truth behind it draws their intertwined lives together - with devastating effect.
