A fun, yet very simple book about the dragon parade and the joy and excitement that comes with it. The pictures are very colorful and I'm sure are fairly accurate to how the actual parade is. This book was an easy read and would be relatable to young children.

The Dancing Dragon was a very colorful and entertaining book. It told the story of the Chinese New year celebration from the eyes of a Chinese boy in China Town. It started off describing how they get prepared for the celebration and what to expect. It then moves into the annual Parade were they see the dancing dragons and other characters that move around through out the parade. There inst much of a lesson but is rather for pure entertainment with the colorful images and the the exciting text. The book is obviously associated with the Asian cultural and i believe it seems to be very accurate and not a stereotyping act. It is not however multi-cultural because it only involves the asian view and no one else.

The story is good. It is rhyming and about the Chinese New Year and the parade celebration that comes with it. The thing that I really didn't like about this book was the fold out pages and how difficult it was to get the book back together properly. It was messy for my kids to handle.

Great Chinese New Year book - Madelyn LOVED the fold out style. Might have to purchase this one for ourselves.
