Definition of 'junked'

A junked well is one which has been plugged and abandoned after equipment has been lost down the well and cannot be retrieved.
The washpipe had failed and a connector had been washed down the hole, resulting
in a junked well.
The loss or failure of downhole equipment which cannot be retrieved by fishing can
lead to a junked well.
