I have genuinely enjoyed NAU. I have attended this university for six years and now I am working on my doctorate in physical therapy. I had the opportunity to be apart of various clubs on campus as well as play on the football team. Every aspect has been enjoyable and almost every interaction with professors, classmates, teammates, and colleagues as been a positive experience. The only downside to NAU is how quickly it is growing even though it seems that there is little room for the added number of students.
I am going into my second year clinical psychology student at the NAU North Phoenix campus. I am loving my experience so far, the professors are so genuine and helpful to each student and take the time to assist you in anything you need.
I liked how small campus is. It made it easy to get around; however, not much goes on around campus--especially in the fall.
As a student going into sophomore year at Northern Arizona University, overall my first year was amazing and engaging. The campus is small and cozy next to downtown flagstaff which is one of my favorite places to go to study. NAU offers multiple resources to students in need which I appreciate because the cost of there is definitely a bit much for some students who plan to come to NAU.
My experience at Northern Arizona University has been great. Looking forward to going up to the Flagstaff campus in the Fall. The employees in the gymnasium have been kind, and the students were accepting.
I went to look at the school as I am attending there in the fall 2024. As far as I've seen it is a respectable school and has a great campus however the weather is quite dramatic.
Overall, you have to learn to love what you are given. Those who say that there is nothing to do is wrong. You have to go find the fun in flagstaff instead of waiting for it to come to you. I like to go ice skating, explore downtown, take advantage of the gym/aquatic center, etc. Learn to romanticize life! The only thing I would like to see change in is more night life. More of that "college experience".
Northern Arizona University is a gorgeous campus and the overall climate is nice during the summer. With some of the introductory STEM courses, they tend have poor professors but I'm unsure what it is like in the upper division courses. Campus-life is abundant with a lot of student and faculty diversity, you can quickly find friends if you put yourself out there.
Northern Arizona University was an incredible experience. It was a great college town with lots to do both on campus and off of campus. Flagstaff as a city has a lot to offer as well as nearby cities such as Sedona or Phoenix or Prescott. While the food opportunities could have had more of a variety, the dining halls had delicious food options. There were lots of things to do regarding student life, including joining a sorority or fraternity, joining a large diverse number of clubs, etc. NAU had a great library to study in with lots of spaces (both quiet and collaborative). There were lots of social opportunities and fun events within the city and through the university. I highly recommend NAU, I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The dorm and off campus living could be improved with pricing and on campus housing going through remodeling, but it always felt safe and comfortable.
NAU is a nice school, they have a lot of different majors and minors you can pick from. They have different electives that can spark different passions for people.
My experience at NAU was great. The only thing I didn’t like was campus parking, but that will be an issue anywhere.
NAU is a great school. There are a couple issues but overall it’s great. The people here are pretty nice.
I loved being a resident assistant for 3 years. I made my besties for life there. It got me out of my shell and it was what transformed me into an extrovert. I love people.
NAU is located in Flagstaff which is a very beautiful place to live. There are NAU sponsored events that take place almost every weekend so there is always something to do if you're ever bored. The professors are very kind and understanding. They really want to see you succeed! The only downfall would be campus living where the management can be lacking. Overall, it is a great place to go to school with many opportunities for extracurricular activities!
Attending Northern Arizona University is very different than anything I have experienced before. The school offers a lot of diversity, there are always different activities to get involved in, and I like the area of Flagstaff although the snow can sometimes make things difficult but that is expected. The professors are okay, but I have had experiences both good and bad so it just depends. The housing on campus is not great, there are limited options and some are not very nice.
I like how the professors take the time to teach things and make sure that students understand the material. I do think the food could be a bit better. The food is pretty good however sometimes the pizza isn't cooked all the way and sometimes the "clean" silverware isn't actually clean.
I have love this school particularly because of the academics and classes. I feel that every class I have taken has contributed to my learning and has helped with my minor/major. I also have had great professors that are willing to work and meet up together to discuss anything needed. Lastly, there are a lot of campus activities and involvement for the students.
