Princess Theodora Alexeevna Romanov (nee Dorrit Reventlow; 22 April 1942, Recife, Brazil) is a Danish translator, benefactor, philanthropist, social activist, and the wife of Prince Dimitri Romanovich Romanov, who has claims to the headship of the Imperial House of Russia.

Biography

She was born as Dorrit Reventlow on 22 April 1942 in the city of Recife, Brazil in the family of Count Eric Revetlow (1903-1944) and his wife Nina Bent Rasmussen (1912-1996). Dorrit is the second child in the family, her brother George was born 1941 and lived only eight years and died in 1949 in Denmark. Princess Dorrit belongs to an ancient Danish family Count Reventlow. This family played a prominent role at the royal court, especially during the Great Reforms 1784-1800. One of the Danish Queen from Oldenburg dynasty belonged to the Reventlow family.

Dorrit's father died when she was only two years and in 1946 the family returned to Denmark.

Princess Dorrit attended private schools in Denmark and Switzerland, where she learned Portuguese, English, French, Italian and Spanish. In 1961, after the first marriage, she moved to Portugal, where for fifteen years she worked as a meeting and banquet manager and the director of the five star hotel. In 1976 in Lisbon she opened her own company for the translate. After the death of the first husband in 1985, she returned to Denmark, where she worked as a representative of the Portuguese company on tourism, and she was also the chairman of the Danish-Brazilian society. In this role, Princess Dorrit was able to increase the members of society, as well as effects to promoted the Portuguese language and culture.

At one of the receptions in 1991, Dorrit met with Prince Dimitri Romanovich Romanov.

In 1993 they were married to Kostroma. It was the first visit of the spouses of the Romanovs in Russia. Since 1993, she has headed his own firm for translate-Translator Dorrit Romanoff & Associates. In her free time she actively helps to her husband in his humanitarian and charitable work in Russia.

Marriages and Children

In 1961, she married Don Telmo Jose Coelho of Braganza (1925-1985). From this marriage she has only daughter: Donna Maria Sybil India Braganza (born 1966), who married in 1998 to Peter Engaarda Pedersen (born 1965), and the couple have two children: Sebastian Lucas Pedersen (born 2011), Anastasia Zoe Sofia Pedersen (born 2005)

On 28 July 1993 in Kostroma, she married Prince Dimitri Romanovich, becoming a member of the House of Romanov. Before the wedding Princess Dorrit took Orthodoxy Faith under the name Theodora Alexeevna.
