both the name and poster are cooler on amazon (not by much) so letterboxd is lacking there.. anyway, this movie sucks
To start this review, I thought I'd share some pre publicity/marketing soundbites from the film's star Jaime Winstone;
“Elfie Hopkins has been an alter ego of mine for a while now, and I can’t wait for the world to meet her. She’ll kick ass! For me, Elfie’s a dream role to play, and I feel there is a gap in the British film industry which we will more than fill!"
Pretentious much?
Try this one
"Ryan and I have been looking forward to making this film for years since our styles just collided and we really hit it off. It feels the right time to capture that 1990s vibe now."
Some of us were actually around in the 90s and…
although it’s over-hated and a bit cheesy, it managed to make me weep a bit. also thank you charli xcx and aneurin barnard💖
British mystery/horror with an awful Jaime Winstone, and a cameo from dad Ray.
It's set in a small English village where a self-consciously kooky girl fancies herself as a detective and so starts to investigate her new neighbours....
I think it was aiming for quirky but it's tiresome rubbish with nothing new to say. 1/10.
I’ll pray for the old women in the comment section of this movie on YouTube to get some d1ck as they are very h0rny and deserve to put that WAP to use
i watched this like a year ago and just remembered and i remember genuinely enjoying it but being fully aware it was absolutely terrible
Witless, directionless, posturing jumble. It's not funny enough to be a comedy and too silly to work as a straight horror. Elfie herself is one of the most punchable characters I've ever encountered in a film, a fat forty-five year old middle class social worker's idea of how to get down with the kids. Good thing Jaime roped in daddy so she doesn't get to give the worst performance in this rubbish.
When the inhabitants of a small Welsh village start disappearing, amateur sleuth Winstone suspects her new neighbours and proceeds to investigate.
