Was It Even Real? is the debut studio album by Olivia O'Brien. It was released on April 26, 2019 through Island Records.
Olivia announced the album on February 1, 2019 with the open letter she wrote for the release of the album’s fourth single, “Love Myself.”
The tracklist was confirmed on March 28, 2019. The pre-order was made available the next day alongside the release of the track, “Just Friends.”
The album was preceded by the singles, “UDK,” “I Don’t Exist,” “Care Less More,” and “Love Myself.”

Did the album have a different title, originally?
Yes. In April of 2018, Olivia sent her cousin, Sydney Carlson, the album in its current state. At this point, it was titled Eventually. Sydney posted a semi-obscured screenshot of the tracklist on her Instagram story
On April 8, 2018, Olivia tweeted the title at the time.
