Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

The Hilton Waikiki Beach hotel garners mixed reviews, with many guests appreciating its prime location just a short walk from Waikiki Beach, dining, and shopping. The rooms are generally viewed as clean, though some guests have called out the need for more frequent housekeeping and better maintenance. Opinions on service range from commendations for the friendly staff to frustrations over inconsistencies, particularly in housekeeping. While the hotel atmosphere is considered clean by some, others find it outdated with safety concerns. The pool renovations and limited amenities have left several travelers disappointed, leading to a prevalent view that the hotel does not provide good value for the cost, especially given the high resort fees.

Level 33 with a view of the beach; its something worth travelling 9 hours.
Hotel clean and staff very helpful while MAC 24/7 has delicious food. The pool has temporarily been relocated to the ground floor while level 9 pool is being refurbished

this place is very nice it is clean and no bugs the beds were not as comfortable as I would like, This place is extremely expensive ( you pay for the atmosphere) I was extremely disappointed in the Friday night fireworks if they lasted 5 minutes. I booked a handicap accessible room, it seems for this room all they did was put in grab bars in the bathtub. My wife and I both use handicap carts the door to the room was extremely hard to open with a handicap cart and their was no way to keep it open for the next cart except crashing into the next cart. I found the lamps not really handicap accessible and their is a very small space between the dresser and the wall to get your cart in. The elevators are very prompt but they do not stay open very long the elevator doors need to be more sensative to carts as the doors hurt my legs when I was have way entering the elevators and have several bruises from the doors, For a big resort , this resort is not very handicap accessible

Aloha, Thank you for sharing your review and we're happy you enjoyed your experience overall. From your description it sounds like you may have stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village (not the Hilton Waikiki Beach which is located on the opposite side of Waikiki). If you would Kindly update your review that would be very appreciated. Mahalo, Hilton Waikiki Beach Guest Services

My wife and I spent five nights at the Hilton Waikiki and were very pleased with the hotel and the service. The location is near the eastern edge of Waikiki just a (long) block walk from Kuhio Beach and diagonally across the street from another of the ubiquitous ABC Stores. Most tour operators offer pickup at the hotel and it is convenient for Uber and Lyft operators to pickup and/or drop off at the covered drive through entrance.

We observed a young man attempting the "Mac Daddy" pancake challenge in the MAC 24 restaurant on our first night. He didn't make it. On the other hand, my wife and I had no problem polishing off some delicious tomato-basil bisque and grilled cheese.

We generally picked up some grab-and-go breakfast from the MAC 2 Go next door to MAC 24 each morning. Good value, better than I would have expected.

Our room on the 15th floor had a city/mountain view and was well appointed. Everything worked including the sink stopper which actually stopped water. As anyone that has traveled very much can attest is a rarity at most hotels. Housekeeping was thorough and always replenished anything that was running low.

I stopped by with questions for the front desk staff a couple of times and found each staff member to be friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

Decent stay. Staff was great especially Tania at Diamond check-in. Room was decent. HVAC was good with constant fan if desired which helps control noise and drown out noise from the street. The Executive Lounge was pretty good too even though they stopped food service promptly at 6:30 pm, Glad they started breakfast at 6:00 am - although it could be even earlier due to Hawaii traffic. The rooms have a funky floor which the black rubs off on feet. The pool area is VERY mediocre and the fitness center even less so with no good weight machine (however the Ellipticals/Treadmills.
were quality LIfe Fitness machines). I specifically mention that because of the steep and very unfair resort fee. This is typical city hotel that is a quarter mile to the beach. To charge a resort fee at any hotel is bad IMHO. But to charge one at this hotel is outrageously egregious. To charge one to either Diamond or Gold Hilton Honors members is absolutely shameful.

I stayed for two nights at Hilton Waikiki Beach. Hilton never goes beyond my expectation in both good and bad ways. But I appreciate them first for offering a room with a great ocean view for affordable price with no minimum requirement nights to stay unlike other AirBnBs in popular sites in Hawaii.
I was welcomed by a man at the check-in. He seemed kind of unfriendly to me that I didn’t feel welcomed. He might have been tired because he was actually a manager or something who usually doesn’t do the check-in duty but he had to now because of the shortage on staffing, etc.
I entered my room for the first time I felt sands under my foot at the entrance area on my first steps in the room. I noticed some lints on bed linens which I tried to ignore but I found a black hair which is not mine under the comforter. Eww. These were what I found in a minute after I entered room so hair and lints were not from me. I noticed there was some burnt marks on the sheet. At that point I had reached the mindset to think it was much better than a hostel. I didn’t request a change of rooms because I didn’t want to make a hustle anymore. After that I noticed that the wall was extremely thin perhaps. I was able to hear the iPhone’s text chimes from next room, a guy next room was heavily coughing and gargling. Another eww.
At the lanai I smelled tobacco that someone must have been breaking the rule or whatever. I decided to look out the great view from inside, which was still quite nice.
Since the TV remote didn’t work, I requested a new one. It was brought to me promptly in a plastic bag. The bag was sealed with a sticker saying “this remote was sanitized” or something like that. Funny part was there was a hair again stuck on the sticker.
AC works cool however it smelled moldy for the first few minutes after being turned on.
The first few hours of my stay were not too pleasant but when I was leaving I didn’t want to leave. After all I enjoyed the stay. Staff at the restaurant in the same building was nice. And like I said at first it offered a room with a fantastic ocean view for affordable price.

The Hilton Waikiki Beach is an affordable hotel for visitors with family travel that has nice, clean, modern styled rooms with either a hill or ocean view. Hotel has a decent rooftop pool with bar and is just a block's walk to the beach. Transportation to and from the hotel is easy and the staff is extremely helpful. Make sure to befriend the bartenders and bellhops. They will make all the difference in your trip.

Excellent service. Very accommodating.

Housekeeping was late so we were able to check in at past 3:30 pm. (Normally is 3 pm). Front desk was very apologetic and gave us $50 voucher to spend at their famous MAC 24/7. (Now that's another excellent rating altogether).

Room was of decent size. It is clean. Has a safe/ vault to store our valuables while we are out and about.

They have valet parking at USD 39 a day (plus tax).

Resort fee is at USD 30 a day (plus tax).

I asked them if we could check out at 12:30 pm at least since they checked us in late in the beginning. Front desk gave us until 1 pm to check out at no additional cost.

Upon check out, when we were asking where we can park to watch the Friday fireworks, Front desk said that we can leave the car until 11 pm at the hotel and just leave the baggages with them. Another plus for us!

Overall, we would definitely come back!

Mahalo especially to Kristine, Kaelani and Rosula (sorry, not sure if I spelled it right).

In general, the hotel was a very nice place to stay. The rooms were clean and quiet. Three features of the room could be improved: more drawer space, more places to hang towels (especially hand towels!), and remove the weird windows with blinds between the bathroom and bedroom area. The pool was adequate, although unheated, so not as nice when cloudy or shaded. The restaurant is very expensive for what you get, and the speed of service, especially at breakfast, was slow. If you have places you want to get to in the morning, consider eating somewhere else. The valet service was nice and generally quick. The location near the beach was good.

We stayed here at the Hilton Waikiki Beach for our first post-covid vax vacation. Very wise choice :) Hotel staff are superb & we heard many thank yous for coming back to Waikiki. Our room was spotless with small Lysol disinfectant stickers posted & disposable cups. Guess our trip must have been a bit too chill, as we accidentally left some valuables in our room safe -- only remembering at HNL airport as we were departing! Calling the hotel front desk, I was quickly put in touch with the manager Kris. He immediately informed us the room hadn't been serviced yet & personally went to the room. Within 15mins to much relief, he had picked up the items with a witness present & arranged for our local friend to pickup! Awesome service all around!!
Beyond that, the hotel restaurant serves yummy Hawaiian & American food (try their take on Loco Moco with Wagyu beef). Also excellent service there.
Highly recommend & will definitely stay here again in the future.
Kudos again to Kris & staff for helping us out!!

I had a positive experience at this hotel. But the name is misleading as it is not a "beach" property. It is across two main streets (with pedestrian crosswalks) from the water. It's still reasonably close. The hotel offers mountain and ocean views. My suggestion is to elect a mountain view room as those rooms are on the back of the hotel and are very slightly more quiet from the fire station nearby. I thought the hotel did a great job during the COVID pandemic of making me feel comfortable with cleanliness (TV remotes wrapped up, etc.) The carpeting has been replaced since the last time I was there and I thought a positive change - it is like a "teflon burlap." It has a tropical appearance and seems much more cleaner to me. Easy to move suitcase around, as well.
