After the death of his stepfather, Aldo, a crisis-ridden anchorman, inherits the country farmhouse where he spent much of his childhood. Depressed and waiting for a response to the revival of his old television program, he sends his young assistant Susy to handle the bureaucratic procedures. Susy reluctantly agrees, and once there, she must contend with a reality very different from what she had imagined. The farmhouse is now a Country House managed by two stewards, Ugo and Amalia, and four “eccentrics” who work the fields, vineyards, care for the livestock, and run what is a small but well-equipped enterprise: Casa Matta. Susy’s arrival and the likely sale of the farmhouse put them on edge, and they will do everything to prevent it from happening.
