I actually didn't know in advance that there are "officially" two other parts to the film, but they seem to me to be fairly separate from this part. In any case, this German comedy was mainly in the crosshairs because it was high school fare. I hadn't read the plot, but if I had known it involved a talking penis/vagina, I would have reconsidered whether or not I wanted to see it. The cast is quite enthusiastic about the drunken situation they find themselves in, but director Henman's creative input is completely minimal. Hammerharte Jungs jumps from clichéd decision to painfully far-reaching humor and then back and forth in a circular loop. I was a bit surprised that the cast still seemed to feel so comfortable. In any case, I thought it was too long at 102 minutes, the humor was very lifeless and the proceedings were too predictable to enjoy it at all.

A comedy film in which the two main characters have a sexual awakening and encounter problems. So a comedy. And what's so funny? Well that's the next thing: the sexually awakening protagonist has dialogues with his penis. The penis only wants one thing and that is sex with a woman. Because the young man is the only one who hears his penis talking, this leads to strange misunderstandings and crazy events. I suspect that the target group, which I assume is in the same age range, finds the young man very funny. I could go along with the fun for a while, but found the fun to diminish enormously after a few hilarious dialogues.
The film is not just about fun. Within fun, attempts are also being made to approach the concerns and needs of teenagers more seriously. Very sympathetic of course. But these attempts are not profound enough and are not done to an adequate extent to wash away the unpleasant taste of the lame humor. Humor that is mainly flat and chronically unpleasant and that never seems to end.
The acting is quite okay by the way. Moreover, the male and female main characters are not annoying. The interpretation of the characters is, however, rather flat. The two protagonists do not elicit much empathy. The story is stupid. The humor, as said, is very weak. It is very little to sit and watch for 102 minutes with fascination. That didn't work. I was therefore relieved that the end credits started.
