Ejay Falcon stars in ‘Dugong Buhay’

EJAY Falcon will face the biggest challenge of his acting career as he stars on ABS-CBN’s new afternoon soap “Dugong Buhay.”

A Carlo J. Caparas masterpiece, “Dugong Buhay” is a television remake of the 1983 film of the same title. It will feature the lifetime search for vengeance of hacienda workers against the cruelty of the De Lara family.

Ejay Falcon will play the role of Victor in the upcoming afternoon series "Dugong Buhay" on ABS-CBN.

“Hindi mawawala yung pressure kasi ang gumawa nito ay si Bong Revilla noon. Ito ang pinakamalaking role na gagawin ko. Hindi ko na lang iniisip yung pressure kasi naniniwala ako sa material,” he said.

Ejay considered the role as blessing, given the acting prowess of other male Kapamilya talents.

He said he underwent numerous acting workshops solely for this show. He also had training in using balisong (butterfly knife) and tried martial arts and boxing.

“Yung mga ginawa ko sa dating teleserye more on sa love teams, dito iba talaga. Ibang Ejay Falcon ang makikita ninyo. Mas magandang teleserye and mas mabibigat na bakbakan,” he said.

He hopes the viewing public would notice all the changes in his acting and how he has progressed as an actor after winning “Pinoy Big Brother” Teen Edition in 2008.

“Natututo ako pero gusto ko pa rin na mag-aral ng mag-aral. Na hindi pag napapanood ng tao sasabihin na si Ejay nagpa-cute lang. Gusto ko na maramdaman din nila na pinagpaguran at binigay ko ang lahat ditto,” he said.

Joining Ejay in the show are newcomer Arjo Atayde, Pen Medina, Ana Capri, Lito Pimentel, Ketchup Eusebio, Yam Concepcion, Jed Montero, Ronnie Quizon, Nonie Buencamino, Christian Vasquez and Sunshine Cruz.

Directed by Toto Natividad, “Dugong Buhay” premieres Monday, replacing “Paraiso.” (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
