Get off the tram at the Cathédrale - Vieille Ville stop and go through the Porte Fausse. You're suddenly in a different world away from the modern city in a maze of narrow streets and pastel-coloured buildings. Lots of shops, cafes and restaurants and don't miss the cathedral and Place Rossetti. A lovely area to explore for a few hours.

You have to walk at least a bit of it if you're in Nice. A wide promenade and can be busy, but there is lots of space and it's great that cyclists have separate lanes. All very clean and didn't notice any litter. Not very much shade though so best in the early morning or evening when it's cooler and the sun isn't beating down.

I regularly used this as a landmark when walking between old town and Nice Ville. There are occasionally street entertainers working here, I seen a fabulous piano player who played beautiful music.

I was at museum at 9.45 reaching it by unpleasant uphill way. I was already happy that I was able to came here all long way from J Med av. There already was staying group of 10 French tourists. I moved on the line. Staff appeared 10 min before opening and create a line direction with the ribbons - which is good. Suddenly group from the bus with russian tourists arrived almost at 10. Their guide was not sure if staff will permit them enter earlier than first people in the line, he spoke with the staff and received a permission. But firsts people came also entered almost 5 min later, it was nice. The exhibition is not big, but it is very good and impressive. I really enjoyed my visit. I liked more artworks in bright spacious rooms. It is really worth to see. My advice - just came 10-15 min before opening and nothing will ruin your mood and impressions from museum.

Its big, beautiful and very different from the other churches you'll see in Nice or nearby regions. When we went there, a group of old folks were playing some local games close to the church.

This was a lovely place to walk through day or night. It is best to read up on which day you plan on visiting because there are different things on sale depending on the day. Lots of things you can buy here for presents or food if you're cooking over there.

We bought the four day museum pass for 15 Euro and visited Musee Matisse, MAMAC and on our last day also Musee Massena. This museum this summer - on the top floor - has an interesting special exhibition with works by Emanuel Costa. 100 years ago he was perhaps the most popular painter in the Nice area and among other he painted the ceiling in Opera de Nice.

Beautiful building from the 1600s within the square Place Rossetti. We didn't go inside as it was closed when we visited on Sunday afternoon, so check opening hours before visiting

Great street for shopping but also has a great atmosphere and feels safe. Lots of cool shops. The Monoprix supermarket has some really nice food and lots of French craft beers in the fridge if you need them for the hotel
