The album was produced by super-producer duo LA Reid and Babyface, who wrote and produced four Number One singles for her including “The Way You Love Me,” “Superwoman,” “Love Saw It,” with Babyface and “Secret Rendezvous”.

The album went on to reach #1 on the Billboard R&B chart and is certified platinum. This was a significant achievement for Karyn White as it established her as one of the most talented R&B singers of the time. In recognition of her incredible talent, Karyn White won a Billboard Music Award in 1989 for “Superwoman” being the Number One R&B Single of the Year. The same year, she was also nominated for a Grammy in the Best Female R&B Vocal Performance category for “The Way You Love Me.”

Karyn White's second album, Ritual of Love, released in 1991, was equally successful. The album was produced by another super-producer duo, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, and featured her most successful single, “Romantic.” The song topped both the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B singles charts and was certified gold.

After almost two decades of hiatus, Karyn White made a comeback, releasing her fourth album in 2012, titled Carpe Diem, tapping on the help of Sable Wotkyns and producer Marcosus.
