Our seven Master of Laws (LL.M.) programs focus on many of the most compelling and challenging areas of advanced study for lawyers. Designed for both foreign-trained lawyers and domestic students holding a J.D., the LL.M. programs at UW Law allow legal professionals to deepen their knowledge and expand their proficiency.

The first of UW Law's graduate law programs, the Asian and Comparative Law LL.M. program has a long and rich history. This program offers U.S. students the opportunity to learn legal systems and cultures of various Asian countries, and international students a path to learn U.S. law and conduct comparative studies.
This program is for domestic and international students who wish to deepen their knowledge of U.S. and international business law. Students in the program will gain the knowledge and skills needed to prepare them for law firm, industry and government careers focused on cross-border business activity.
Health law is a growing area of specialized legal practice, and the Health Law LL.M. program provides students with access to a highly rated law school, first-rate faculty and opportunities in Seattle's vibrant health care, biotech and global health law communities.
UW Law is located in one of the premier intellectual property-producing regions in the world. With close connections to the Seattle IP community, the Intellectual Property Law & Policy LL.M. draws on its network for experienced adjunct faculty and practical experiences.
The SID LL.M. is the first graduate program at a U.S. law school to focus on international development law. Students learn through a hands-on program with opportunities designed to sharpen the skills to address the international development challenges of the 21st century.
The Tax LL.M. is dedicated to providing students in-depth training in both the technical and practical aspects of tax law. The program teaches the necessary skills for innovative tax planning in all areas — federal, state and local taxation; international taxation; and estate, trust and gift taxation.
The General Law LL.M. offers a customizable course of study for domestic and international legal professionals whose interest areas do not entirely fit into one of the specialized LL.M. programs. Students have the flexibility to pursue cross-cutting and interdisciplinary studies or focus their studies in a particular substantive area.
