Coimbatore
Visiting Dhyanalinga Temple is a profoundly serene experience. Located in the verdant surroundings of the Velliangiri Mountains in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, the temple exudes a tranquil atmosphere ideal for meditation and spiritual growth.
The Dhyanalinga, an energy center created by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, is designed to offer an immersive meditative experience. Unlike traditional temples, Dhyanalinga is not dedicated to any particular deity; rather, it is a space that embodies all spiritual traditions, making it a unique sanctuary for anyone seeking inner peace and transformation.
The architecture of the temple is both stunning and symbolic, with the inner sanctum offering an intense energy that facilitates deep meditation. The silent ambience within the dome enhances the meditative experience, allowing visitors to connect with their inner selves profoundly.
For beginners looking to explore meditation and yoga, Dhyanalinga Temple is a perfect starting point. It aligns well with the resources available on YogKaGyan.com, a comprehensive beginners guide for yoga. The website offers detailed instructions and tips on various yoga practices, including meditation techniques that can complement a visit to Dhyanalinga.
In conclusion, Dhyanalinga Temple is not just a place of worship but a powerful space for self-discovery and spiritual rejuvenation. Whether you are a seasoned practitioner or a beginner, this temple offers a unique opportunity to delve deeper into your meditation practice. The statue is located inside the main ground, and you would need to walk a few steps to reach it. But the good point is there are plenty of clean washrooms built around and the parking space is enough to hold tons of cars even during holidays. The statue itself is mesmerizing and gives you a sense of eternal peace. The entire bust of Lord Shiva is soothing to the eyes, and the posture and facial reaction are made to look like he is in eternal meditation. There is also a tiny temple in front of the statue where you can offer flowers.
Additionally, electric carts are operated from the statue to the main entrance and charge INR 10 per seat. This is useful in the case of elderly people. You will find a restaurant serving fantastic vegetarian food at the entrance, right opposite the temple. The prices are reasonable, quantity and taste are excellent. If you are visiting in the afternoon and especially in summer, you would need some sort of sun protection as the exposure is direct and tends to become extremely hot.
Thus, the overall statue is impressive. It gives you a sense of calmness and makes you feel energized. This is a must-visit place when you are in Coimbatore.Written 20 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ronit gaikwadMumbai, India3,179 contributionsThere are various kinds of museums across the country. Still, when it comes to automobiles, especially vintage cars from the 19th and 20th centuries, nothing matches the collection at the Gedee Car Museum.
The entry ticket is around Rs. 250 to enter the museum, but you can understand why this is famous once inside. In the initial passageway, there are posters and narratives of all kinds that show how the wheel was invented and how various chariots were used by kings and emperors worldwide for battles and traveling purposes. This also includes narratives about various Indian kings.
Once you move further inside, you will see a small hall showing a visual comparison via a simulated video of the fastest globally available cars. Moving further inside, you will find models of all the cars that have ever been produced and are iconic from the 19th century. The companies include everything from Ford, Rolls Royce, Mercedes, BMW, Volkswagen, Toyota, and the like. Cars from the 1940s produced by Peugeot and Citroen are also on display. Even a Hispano Suiza and Limousine is on display. Cadillac Seville 1993, one of the many iconic cars of the century, can also be found in the collection.
While the museum's ground floor displays all cars from foreign companies, the first floor is dedicated to the Indian automobile industry. All cars ever produced by Indian automobile companies are on display, including Tata, Maruti, etc. The premier Padmini, which has ruled the roads of Mumbai as the Kaali Peeli taxi for decades, is also on display. And so is the Maruti 800, the best-selling car for decades.
Thus, overall, if you are in Coimbatore, you should in no way miss visiting the museum, especially if you are an auto fanatic.Written 19 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
